If anyone here is like: "Eeh, useless category", let me explain it to you first. This category will be separate from any%, so if u dont feels like running it u dont have to. This category is supposed to be mainly for people with slower pc, where they get looong loading times (like me, 17 secs). Since in any% we cant use igt cuz u can save/load, here, since it is SS, u wont be able to do that. So we will be able to use igt. Yes, u will have to do it probably manually, but if u dont feel like doing that, u can send it to mods for doing that (idk if that will happen). Hopefully this will change your mind.
What Corky means is that this category will be timed with IGT. That way people with a good PC don't have an unfair advantage, and you don't have to worry about loading times.
Just stumbled upon this post, and I see that IGT was supposed to be the main timer for Single-segment runs. However, on the any% classic SS category, the rules still state " -Main timer is "Real time". " Since i currently have one submission (any% classic SS), done on my old and slow pc, even though i am 45s (In-game time) faster than second place, i am still third because of my loading times being slow as hell. If the category used In-game time i would be second. Don't get me wrong, I am perfectly happy with third place, its just bums me out that the original idea was IGT and even though people voted in favor of IGT, real time was still chosen to be the main timer.
Unfortunately you cannot set different timers for each category and since almost nobody runs SS, we kept RTA. I proposed to retime every run manually about a year ago, but people were still hoping back then that a load-removal script will work properly, so the idea was basically thrown out of window.
Talking about the load removal script, didn't we have one a while back?
Also, what's even the point of the SS category if we can't sort it by IGT? Why can't we make one category with all the SS stuff, so that we can make IGT the main time there?
Not a single "revision" was working properly. There was always a small issue without a reasonable workaround.
Thinking about it, I think the SS category can be sorted by IGT if we remove "Time with loads" column.
Patch 5100 added the day selection from the main menu, you can now submit ILs for all the 5 days, please read the rules and good luck!
