We actually talk to the community, why would we not be active on the discord? I think it's dumb that mods never interact with the community.
I feel like you should change that rule to being active on discord or the forums, since some people (including myself) prefer the forums rather than discord.

Also it's not a "rule", there are no rules when it comes to being chosen as a mod, we just pick whoever fits the position, and it's almost always an active member of the community because we know very well how they act and how they would serve as a moderator.
