this is where the game can change the most imo. new strats being used for barb and co-op involve NO ARMOR!!! just items and blasting through the levels and hoping the boss head positioning is right in your face :)
for warp runs that is. in warpless, that's the wild west in terms of strategy, so much to Xplore !!!
Hello you might like to know that a warpless run with a naked wizard is possible (I made a 36.37. That's all your fault you gave me the idea to try it. It seems that you walk faster without armor and the tricky jumps are easier to make. It would need some reverse enginnering to be sure about that though, it is certain that your hitbox is smaller. I don't know if that changes for the huntress and the barbarian. Thanks for your shortcut in the fourth level (the one after the fist elevator, with the naked wizard and a force field potion you can climb all the way).
Congratulations on your warpless barbarian run. This may help you : you can do the batskip in level 4 even with the barbarian. It is the worse runkiller in the game. You should stick more to NerdyNester's road (except for Level 7 which would be better known as Green Hell!). See you soon.
"It seems that you walk faster without armor" This would be huge if true, I'll have to do some testing. I've attempted some warp runs with no upgrade on wizard but haven't been able to pb yet. Also wow, that's WR for warpless wizard. That's too bad you didn't record it. (I'm assuming)
Thank you for noticing the warpless skip glad it was useful :) and goddam failing on the batjump and not being able to jump back up are why I didn't try, but it seems it must be done!
Hello GoodieShoes and TheManaLord, about walking faster without armor it is a visual impression, I might be wrong. It has to be balanced with the fact that you lose an eternity fighting bosses. Too bad we cannot put images here that's the only proof I got (I was so surprised I recorded the timer final image). OBS does not seem to work on my pc, my pc may be too old. I may use Fraps or the emulator itself but you wouldn't see the timer which is very upsetting.
@TheManaLord this batskip is worth trying even if you fail twice. You'll just have to remain alive throughout he rest of the game or buy extra lives. It spares you a long dangerous detour. Your warpless skip is more useful for the naked wizard road I think since you get the last powerup wearing armor when you use the elevator (it does not appear with your ladder shortcut :( ). Glad to know you both.
Batskip can be crazy risky sometimes. I'm not sure if you've run into this but as we were doing co-op attempts, whoever was playing huntress and performing the skip would get caught holding right but miss the bat. If you fall into that pit to the right it's an intsa-death and it's so frustrating. Lol.
Also I'm not sure if there is support for every game on fusion but netplay may be possible so if you ever wanted to try I'd be down. (I've experimented with it but not successfully yet.)
Batskip is always crazy risky. Many of my runs died in that pit, it happened more than once. In solo games it's a liittle less punitive since you've just bought the armor and you d'on't have any power-up yet.
I need to check that feature on Fusion, it may be interesting. It will have to wait until the end of the World Cup I think. :D
