so i recently got my hands on an ntsc nes and ntsc super mario bros cart but i couldnt really play the game because the gam ran alot faster than normal so it made it almost impossible to do stairs pipe jumps etc

has anyone had this issue and have a solution?

You keep saying "NTSC" in your question, but, like Pellsson said, it sure sounds like you're talking about a PAL version

The MUSIC on PAL sounds sped up as well... so if the music literally sounds faster, then it's almost undoubtedly PAL

Another few things you can check is that the 8-2 stairs are literally impossible on PAL without slowing down. Also 4-2 is easily possible to do a 2 bump and get 375... (on PAL, bumps against objects move your xposition further forward than on NTSC) if either of those things happen, you're on PAL

That is not the case @Darpey because I can do almost every ntsc strat including 8-4 and 8-2 stairs normally just the speed is fast which makes it harder to do, although I think changing the resolution might help because at the moment it’s streched so the game appears to be faster. I’m not using a crt tv I’m using my parents tv which isn’t new but it was one of the firsts to support 1080HD resolution but if that doesn’t work any other ideas? I know @pellsson says the oscillator could be modded but I have no clue what that is neither do I know how to change anything technical to do with the nes

Honestly, the best way we can help you is if you post a video of some gameplay.

@roopert83 soory for they bad audio and video quality its 10 pm and I don't feel like making a proper screen recording or using a proper mic so my brother was the cameraman on my ipad.

the video demonstrates how uncontrollable the games and how fast it runs.

It appears you’re playing a PAL cartridge on an NTSC console.

If I run the PAL version on my PowerPak, it behaves the same as I have an NTSC console.
