@KingRion I think the Wii / Wii U vc has alot of fun games you can run! My personal favorites:

  1. Paper Mario (Wii U VC)
  2. Pokemon Rumble (Wii VC)
  3. Mario RPG (Wii U VC)
  4. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (Wii)
  5. Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii & Wii U VC)
  6. The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker (Wii U)
  7. Tons of old NES/SNES/DS and GBA games! (Wii U VC)

Gotta run 'em all!

I'm currently trying out Resident Evil REmake and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, both on the GC. That's another fun console to run with.

Wii VC is impossible unless you have them downloaded prior to a monthish ago because Nintendo shut down Wii shop channel. I have LoZ: MM, (not running ever) SMB, (eventually) SMB LL, (Probably not) Paper Mario, (oh god no) Super Metroid (Doubtful) and Mario Party 2 (Nope.) So my pickings are slim on Wii VC, but I would recommend SM64 Wii U VC, only $10 USD. Start with 70 Star for no super crazy tricks, then 50 is a category extension which allows for the skipping of the first BLJ, then 31 Star for no Mips clip, then 16 for everything minus SBLJ, then 1 Star for SBLJ, then 0 Star for godlike skills. I’ll prob practice 31 Star, because I can do BLJ but no mips. And no bomb Clíp because I suck but whatever

Here are a couple really good, very quick, low competition download/web games.

What Kills You Makes You Stronger! A Magicians Quest for Immortality: www.speedrun.com/wkymys

Years Later: www.speedrun.com/yearslater

Both are not too challenging, sub 5 minutes, a guranteed too 3 spot, and very fun.

Thank you B31JS, I’m doing a bunch of small “filler” games while I practice for SMO.

If you wanna look at my profile, I run a Wow Wow Wubzy game lol and the cow racing game in Wii Play

Nice, I’m a mod of both, so I’ll be sure to check for your run(s)

I can also suggest Cat Bird, 60 Second Burger Run, Cat Planet, Saturated, and Meteor 60 Seconds!, all of which are free web/PC/iOS games that are relatively quick (at least some run types) and have varying difficulties, but none are too hard. Not a mod of any of these, but if I become a mod of any other free quick games I’ll let you know.

I Would Say Mario 64. Because it is the easiest one to find tutorials for. And Plus Most of the tricks are not hard.

We need more runners running atv quad power racing 2. Theres only 2 of us. Few easy wrs. It came out on xbox gamecube and ps2. No emulators. You could get the gamecube version and play on wii. But it might cost more.

If you are new and looking to get into speedrunning then Super Mario 64 is a good option and the only hard thing in that is the first BLJ for the 16 star run and that is to get to Bowser the second BLJ on the infinite stair case is easy.

It’s okay, a lot of people run it because of the nostalgia factor, cause they’ve known it for a long time

Most games are tough for people who aren't familiar before. Start with a game you are very familiar with, doesn't matter what it is. Speedrun a game you have the most experience with and most familiarity with, with respect to the shift in experience in playing quickly. If you refuse to run a game that fits like that, then all I can say is that you won't find it if you ain't lookin'. Everyone is different and will have fun running different games, only you will know it's worth speedrunning when you find it.

I just started speedrunning and decided to try my hand at Super C. It was my favorite NES game as a kid, and I have beaten it numerous times without any deaths. I would wholeheartedly agree with everyone stating to play what you enjoy. It certainly helps when you are repeating the same parts of a game over and over again to perfect it.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii is a great speedgame. Any% is easy to learn. You can still get very good times even if you can't do any skips and cannonless is good for casuals to run.

Valhalla

@YoniArousement bloodstained: curse of the moon, any category set to casual mode.
