Proof that we need to go loadless

It says Gamecube ISO that does not mean he's playing on Emulator right? Will add my input once I know more about ciccio's run been away from Budokai for a while

Illinois, USA

Well I have no proof that it's iso, but the quality doesnt look good enough to be emu imo. And he clearly saves time in loads over other gamecube runs

Guam

dont worry guys i beat ciccio's record anyway on GC, so it doesnt matter

Calabria, Italy

Yup, it was GC iso, but played on console (Wii). Even though, somebody needs to confront USA and JPN versions ayways, because the latter felt so much smoother and faster to me at first. But might just be placebo. I absolutely second the fair loadless rule. It's making me realize how much undeserved my record is, lol

Hey, guys! Bumping this thread. I did a little comparision video today, which left me with some doubts.

First of all, let's forget about the USA vs JPN iso stuff that I mentioned in the past, it was 100% placebo. Their difference in loadings is very minimal (if not identical). I'm not completely sure about the gameplay tho, but Blaze Jeezus' record on NTSC-U should answer that question clearly. So, it's totally about the platform.

As you can see, both my games (played on the Nintendont GC emulator for the Wii) are identical, in loadings, to Blaze's run. And watching the previous GCN WR (by Back), I noticed that the game on the original GameCube had waaay slower loadings than our runs did. So, I wanted to ask Blaze Jeezus what platform did he use to play his run (original disc on Wii, or ISO on Nintendont? If you already mentioned it in the video, I'm so sorry, I didn't notice!). The reason I'm asking this is because I unfortunately don't have a physical copy of the game, and so I don't know if it, on the Wii, has the same loading times of the GameCube (thus making the Nintendont emulator "not viable").

In the end, anyways... yes, ther are only two solutions.

  1. Going loadless, which makes the most sense.
  2. Separating categories (ONLY if it is proved that the original game on the Wii has the same loading times of the Nintendont emulated version).

Because yes, there are way better runs that deserve to be in the place I am (and I was) right now.

Nintendont is not an emulator. The Wii is not powerful enough to emulate a GameCube. Nintendont simply loads the files off of an SD card or USB drive and runs it the way it should be run as if it were a physical copy. I have a physical copy of the game, and load times are the same as on Nintendont. To answer your question, yes, I play on a Wii (Nintendont, but as I've just said, it's the same as using a physical copy). Loadless is definitely the way to go.

Back and ciccioDM like this

and if my run does become invalid or we go loadless, im still totally down to run it again and get WR
