I was thinking about doing runs of each episode on UV Speed and UV Max but was wondering why the M8 time isn't counted for UV Speed but it is for UV Max? The idea of not counting M8 kinda irks me and it not being a consistent rule across all subcategories irks me even more. Might try Doom 2 instead but I'd rather start with a shorter run.

UV Speed isn't counted because people that run it are dumb and choose to ignore two and a half decades of timing improvements in demos, and also choose to make their runs objectively worse because of it. No one cares enough about the category to retime every run to be logical. To expand: E1M8 time didn't originally display in vanilla doom, so early Compet-N runs just chopped it off instead of using an external timer, and people like Zero-Master are too scared of changing the status-quo so he does bad routes just to beat the meme times.

UV Max isn't like this on this leaderboard because I run it, and main it, and I don't put up with that garbage, so I properly set up the board before porting runs over and setting the rules, however the same meme rules applied to all categories during the Compet-N era.

That's unfortunate. I guess I'll just stick with UV Max for now then, my last "run" of it was around 30 minutes but I missed a few monsters and never got around to trying it again.

Max is a better category anyways :D
