Here's some suggestions. Some were probably already mentioned by others:

(1) Add a FAQ page (moderation/inactivity, how to request games, how long it's gonna take, name change, ...).

(2) Hide platforms, release year, developers etc. in series and/or after a search if the they are not part of the results.

(3) Open all external links in a new tab by default, including urls in comments and forum posts.

(4) Imo there's too many sticky threads in the site forum. My suggestion would be to add BBCode to FAQ and discuss new features/changes via changelog à la github issue tracker). That would make it easier for both sides to keep track of suggestions / bugs and prevent duplicates.

(5) Automatically lock threads after a month of inactivity unless it's a sticky.

(6) Moderation history for each game (X verified Y's run on date T, S edited Q's run...).

so, very minor, but on my runs of Pokemon Picross, the sandile level shows me having 2 1st place runs, but there is only my 1 run and no others, it is also a single category so I cant possibly have 2 trophies.

Just because you moderate a game doesn't make your opinions more valuable than other users nor should you ever have the right to ban someone from "your" leaderboard, morons

Moderators actually do have the right to "ban" users from a leaderboard, at least if that user is submitting runs that are illegitimate in some way. While it technically isn't a ban, rejecting runs does prevent users from posting illegitimate runs.

What Auddy07 actually mentioned is banning users from the forums, as opposed to banning them entirely from the leaderboards. While I do find such a notion to be unfair, I also understand Auddy07's reasoning. Also, moderators are already able to delete any forum post that they deem inappropriate. As moderators, they do have these authorities.

There is no need to insult other users, even if you disagree with their ideas.

i hope we're not using floats for currency, heh.

True, Auddy07, but how do you know mods will not overuse this kind of power. It could be good, but only if done in a clever way.

There's many instances of Mods deleting threads and posts that disagree with their views. We've seen this plenty of times. So if Mods can simply ban any dissenting opinion and call it "Trolling" or "ruining aspect of the community", then you can see where problems would arise.

@Auddy07

I feel like banning users from any forums on this site would be unfair, on the basis that there would then be no way to allow a banned user to make amends. Game forums aren't like Twitter accounts. Game forums are not a personal space. If a user is enough of a problem, and if they continue to be a problem after being notified of their ill behavior, then the situation could then be turned over to a site mod or admin. There was a user who recently went on a bit of a tirade after not being allowed to mod a game. There was a back-and-forth between him and a few other users. Had that situation occurred in a game forum where one of the other users involved were able to ban him, he very likely could have been banned (I'm assuming this, based on their tone). Had he been banned, he would not have been able to apologize for his actions, which he did. The forums and game forums are a place for discussion and for users to sort out their differences, if needed. If a user begins to conduct themselves in a manner that is considered abusive, then a site mod or admin can be notified. Is there a difference if they are first banned, then they come to the main forum or email an admin or site mod to state their case?

What xHaviiHx ? Aren't the runs sorted by time ? The most recents should be on top. No ?

I noticed that recently the 'date' field was made mandatory for all games. Now, on principle that's a good idea, but some old runs have an unknown date. Either add an option for requiring date (because seriously, requiring the day the run was done on but not a video is quite the dumb situation for some games) or if date will remain mandatory, add an "unknown" option.

Just by curiosity, why is there a Duolingo slot in the social links of our profiles ? So people can know our level in a language ? Well I've tried it a bit and it's not very accurate. Unless it is made for races, and in that case I challenge everyone for Duolingo French Any% Kappa

Just wondering, would it be possible to have like a misc set of ILs. Just like full game misc categories but with ILs?

Where can I have a specific thread for request games? I have so many games I know NO ONE RUNS in mind.

Netherlands

@WeaponLord There's a button to request games under the games tab. However...

"This form should not be used just because a game isn't listed on the site."

Not sure if this has been reported or not but sometimes the sidebar for games doesn't work. Like in this picture http://i.imgur.com/SEPDJQX.png I'm clicking on different main categories but it stays on the first one.

fuck posted in wrong thread. oh well mb some admins will see this post eventually

Racingmonster: Most forums don't delete old posts. It's sort of a historic record of site stuff. In the case of that one specific thread, maybe an argument could be made to clear out old posts.

WeaponLord: Generally we want to add boards without runs. We don't add boards to get people to run games, we add boards when people run games.

xHaviiHx: I like the idea.

Tarbash: Front page needs some overhaul eventually. It's better than it used to be, but still needs some work.

Rottdawg: I personally dislike about 90% of the themes on the site, so another admin would probably be better off speaking towards that.

I read all of these posts and don't always respond; sometimes the topics are better off spoken towards by the other admins.
