How exactly do I get like the timer and that to do speedruns? I want to try a speedrun, but I don't know how to setup the timer and what not

Switzerland

@Milength Thats not a good answer and doesn't even help anyone...

Anyway, get a speedrun timer (most commonly are LiveSplit and WSplit), both linked here: https://www.speedrun.com/resources

For LiveSplit you need to add some Splits under "Edit Splits", everythign else isn't that important but still useful, heres a tutorial on that (on a older version but most stuff is still accurate):

Then add it as a windows capture in OBS (not sure about XSplit but probably pretyt similar)

If you need more help to start stream, heres a good tutorial/FAQ: https://www.speedrun.com/Streaming/thread/qlnmy

XSplit works the same with a window capture FYI. Just select Livesplit and it’ll auto size the capture to Livesplit and track it regardless of where you move it to.

I'm new to speedruns as well. I decided to join up as uncharted 4 has a trophy to complete game in under 6 hours. Can't I use the time that appears on the statistics, just curious?

The trophy has nothing to do with speedrun.com so it doesn't matter. If you want to submit a run, the game uses IGT so it's allowed, however you should still record it!

I'm fairly new to speedrunning. I'd like to know how to setup a stream so that at least footage, camera, and livesplit shows up in a video.

If anyone knows or has a link to a video, it would be helpful.

@GingeTheRipper OBS, Download. Open OBS. Get your stream key from twitch/link your account. Go to settings. Copy that stream key. Go to sources and click the plus. Choose which window you want to be displayed (it needs to be open in order to do so, but once you select your source you don't have to manually apply it again). Go to window capture, again, and select LiveSplit timer. If you want a background, click image and choose your image.
