So Reicha7 discovered if you run to the edge of the screen and just before transitioning to the next screen, you hit the reset button, you wrap to the other side of the screen...

Ok so the first order of business is naming the tick.
I called it something like "Reset Glitch" and Lemur has proposed "Screen Warp" or "Ol' Switcheroo" :P

I'm just call the category split Death Abuse and No Death Abuse so that people can understand what the trick is a little better
we're also gonna need a list of rooms that it doesn't work in because it has the potential to hardlock the game.
I mean I'm not sure if death abuse is an apt name as you're not using death as a mechanic. You're using the level reset which is different as it resets everything whilst death just resets cycles.
I know of 2 places it softlocks.
The first is the first ice level. The second is the first room in the shadow realm where you use the double jump to reach it.
this isn't a softlock this is a hardlock because you can't undo it at all the only way to fix it is to delete the save. Anyway maybe Reset Abuse then.
so it seems to not work on rooms that have a bell, any room that requires a cutscene to leave the other way. There are a few exceptions to this but this is a good rule to go off of.
actually my bell rule isn't always true. k not sure what is preventing me from doing it on certain screens.
I imagine you've already seen but it doesn't work in any of the space levels because the transition isn't instant there.
Instead of there being a no reset abuse split on the leaderboard, why not put the runs without as NMG (No Major Glitches). To me it makes more sense like that as if we find anything else that completely breaks the game, it can still fit in the category where glitches are allowed. Just future proofs us for any extra finds.
Of course that opens up the debate about what is and isn't a major glitch. But that's a conversation for another thread ha
I came to this based on looking at other lbs NMG is definitely something that i will potentially change it to but for right now i think this is fine. I will also be revising the rules to explain what reset abuse is.

I have also stuck in the resources section a folder with splits for all category combinations (except surprise party legacy cos no one runs that) so new runners or returning ones can get up to speed easily.
you could abbreviate it. People have the same problem with genocide categories. I don't want to change the name simply because a robot accidentally flags it as offensive.
So it appears the content update has actually fixed the glitch....
I guess we need to look into having Patch variables
