The tall legs are robux so it gives less fortunate speedrunners a disadvantage

i hagve found out what chinese piggy is

Bahrain

I recently realized that this post has numerous pages, therefore I would want to modify what I had previously said.

Since I had been oblivious to the previously mentioned fact, I was uninformed of OrangeViper's statement, which states that "The tall legs are robux, so it gives less fortunate speedrunners a disadvantage".

The definition of tall legs continues to baffle me. And even though, I still suppose that I understand what such a "Chinese piggy" is (which, I'm reasonably convinced, is the pig game's language being changed to Chinese, which gives you an edge due to the text gliding by far more rapidly compared to other languages, which would be very idiotic!!). If my assumption is correct, THEN THIS WOULD BE JUST LIKE HAVING A GAME DEPEND ON YOUR FPS FOR ANIMATION SPEED! WRONG!!!! YOU MUST ENSURE THAT IT WILL TAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME, REGARDLESS!

However, regarding the tall legs, I'm thinking it's a piece of equipment for your avatar that makes you taller and quicker, which ALSO MAKES NO SENSE!! When developing a game as good as this pig game, this is among the things you should be watching out for.

Nevertheless, since I have no means of independently verifying this, it will remain unresolved until I get an additional response that clearly explains this matter. I would loathe having a "Chinese piggy" or "tall leg" destroy a speedrun attempt by myself or by any of my colleagues given that we are purely and simply oblivious of their nature or even mere existence due to the fact that we have not yet been made aware ourselves about the topic.

Sincerely, YHK

Chinese Piggy is a separate game that was previously made to serve people who speak the language, however, it was left aside and became an outdated version of piggy, where it was possible to do some "tricks" that were patched when passing of updates.

Tall legs are pretty self-explanatory, they are long legs that can be used during gameplay, which can be purchased from the roblox avatar store.

How do you get tall legs because free tall legs are allowed right?

Brazil

Yeah, free tall legs are allowed (like City Life Woman legs)

Hello there, this response is causing the forum to give me an error stating that "Text is too long", so I have split it into multiple parts.

It has been a while since my last response to this post, I was previously misinformed about the "Chinese piggy" and "tall legs" part of this post, as you can tell by my first, second, and third replies to this post, I have now been educated regarding what "tall legs" are along with what "Chinese piggy" actually is, and I have even played it to check it out myself.

It is basically as @OtakuXD has mentioned, just the same as the normal Piggy game, but it was supposed to be a "Chinese" version of said game, since Roblox had released a version of its platform for the People's Republic of China, however, due to the strict regulations and laws, for any game to be accessible there it had to follow strict rules, therefore a fork of Piggy had been made by Minitoon with said changes to comply with the requirements and for it to be eligible, that way the users of the Chinese version of Roblox could access the game, along with translating the game to Chinese so that they could also understand the game in their mother tongue language (their primary language).

"Chinese piggy" also happens to be an outdated version of Piggy, as it was aimed at the Chinese Roblox market, which as you might know went by "Luobu", it was officially released on July 13, 2021. Its release was also accompanied by a popular experience that went by the name "哪吒之魔童降世", which in English was "Nezha's Devil Boy Descends Into The World", also known as "Nezha Obby". You might have noticed that I'm talking about Luobu in the past sense, and that is because on July 17, 2021, Roblox decided to terminate all of the 5 million Luobu accounts, and afterward, on the 8th of December 2021, Luobu was shut down indefinitely along with them posting a message thanking their players for helping them test the platform and that the project will return and continue.

Since "Chinese piggy" was just a forked version of Piggy which meant it was the same experience but published under a different experience, all the updates had to be made separately, so all new content had to be made twice just to keep both up to date and not only that but the content had to also comply with both markets since the Chinese gaming market has very strict rules and regulations which limited what MiniToon could do since you can only have so much time and then he'd have to higher people but the project might not be profitable so it's a balancing game, eventually "Chinese piggy" released its last update about 2 years ago, since it has been neglected all previously discovered bugs in the main experience that were patched with updates have not been patched in this experience, therefore you can perform stunts that are not possible in normal Piggy, making it desirable for speedrunners who want to dominate in the "glitches" category.

As per the "tall legs" part of my previous response, it does seem like I got that part correct. It seems that if you purchase a bundle on Roblox you get a slightly taller character model since their legs are longer than normal (default avatar). However, while they may appear just like any other character/avatar bundle, as they are just cosmetic items from what I understand, they do give players some sort of an advantage, which is not player speed as I've incorrectly mentioned before. Upon further research, I have confirmed that the problem with tall legs was NOT with it making you go faster, as it does NOT affect speed since speed is a fixed value that does not change with your proportions, but rather the fact that it helps you "clip" into stuff, from what I understand it lets you glitch into objects, walls, and the ceiling much faster and with less of a hassle, which is something you want when you are speedrunning as you are aiming to get the fastest time possible, however as the tall legs package costs robux, that puts a barrier to entry which not all players can afford therefore it's understandable why it shouldn't be allowed considering that there is a free alternative, even tho it's not as good as the paid one it still is possible.

Given that the game is also free, it does not make sense to have a pay-to-win mechanic for speedrunning, since speedrunning should be accessible to as many players as possible (to a certain point) and at the end of the day it should be the person whos the best at the game and not what they use, but we cannot deny the fact that it's not just that easy, multiple factors come into someone getting a world record, be it luck, skill, knowledge, experience, hardware, etc, simply eliminating one of the options that only add an advantage to players who can afford it certainly is not a bad idea since you enable so much more talent to rise, since as I've mentioned, it should be the person and not just the other factors, even if they still have a role, the person should be the strongest link.

Now that I have a slightly better understanding of what "Chinese piggy" and "tall legs" are, I understand why you would want this not to count as a run since this is the speedrun page for the normal Piggy and not the Chinese variant, which is riddled with bugs, extremely outdated, and missing so much content that it might as well be considered a relic of what could've been, however since Roblox technically did not fully shut down Luobu as per their announcement, "Chinese piggy" could have a comeback, which then this conversation would be had again but under a different light.

I hope that others now understand what both of these are in case they are confused by "Chinese piggy" or "tall legs", they can now fully grasp what both of these are, and avoid both of them so that they don't have their runs accidentally ruined and not accepted just because of them not being aware of the new rules, and even if they were aware, they might not have understood what "Chinese piggy" or "tall legs" are because it is not clear, as you could see from my previous points, I had thought that "tall legs" were something that would change your player speed which is NOT possible from the way that Roblox works unless MiniToon had developed the game in an extremely bad way which does not make sense considering he made Piggy, and I had previously also thought that "Chinese piggy" also was when the runner changes their game language to Chinese in order for the text to glide faster since some languages require less characters/words to convey the same message which turned out to be false, as it was a completely different game.

Sincerely, YHK
