IMPORTANT: Balance Patch leaderboard changes.

Hey everyone,

As I'm sure a lot of you know, the new balance patch is out (V05), and there are a lot of changes. So many changes that it's not fair to compare old patch runs to new patch runs. As a result, we're going to be setting the default patch to V05. What does this mean?

  • The board will look like it's been cleared out and only patch V05 will be displayed by default. However...

  • ...The old patch runs still exist! You have to click on the filter button on the top and select any in the patch variable. You'll be able to see the runs from all the previous patches.

We were previously considering a category extension for the old patch, but the game will likely have future balance patches (and probably DLC), so this is a more future proof way of managing the board.

Also worth noting that you still may submit runs on older patches, just mark them as such. If you play on steam, you can backpatch. https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetsofRage/comments/ioa90w/psa_on_steam_you_can_go_back_to_the_previous/

Good job, thanks for the work you all do keeping the boards running :)

Awesome sauce at least we can see the run previous patch. But looks like I’ll be doing that run again. In the proper fashion...not a problem then

I don’t like that the old runs are hidden like that, all that hard work on the old patch and they’re all hidden in the filter tab. I think its better to have it on the main board as a category, kinda like what cuphead did with their board. New people or runners checking the leaderboard would not know that there was even an old patch. I’m new to how leaderboards work, so If I’m in the wrong please correct me.

The game is completely different, some of these V04 times I'm willing to bet are impossible to beat on V05, an integrated leaderboard would also confine our PBs across versions.

Which in other words the speed runs from previous patch are now obsolete...and speed runners will try again with most current patch. Right time to revisit the speed run again this weekend.

What I find hilarious is that Priest right now not only has the #1 Floyd Mania run, he also has both #5 and #7 lol

(Shows as #1 on the boards due to the filter, then when you go into his profile he is #7 and #5 as both the versions are showing)

Similarly I am at the same time 1st, 4th and 5th on Adam Easy haha. This amuses me.

I edited the first post to add that people may submit runs on the old patch. There is actually a way to backpatch on Steam. https://www.reddit.com/r/StreetsofRage/comments/ioa90w/psa_on_steam_you_can_go_back_to_the_previous/

Chakrams: Adding an extra sub-category for patch could work I guess. My concern is that the game is still being updated, the devs have constantly hinted at DLC, and even mentioned it in the guard crush discord. The game is still getting updates.

Ckellyedits: Yeah that's a consequence of letting different patches each have their own time, it's a bit confusing.

We decided to go with Chakram's idea with the board, it makes it easier to see the older patches and doesn't make it awkward when submitting and seeing your run in a funky place.
