As a new streamer and speedrunner i recently purchased an Avermedia live gamer portable lite and i'm going to stream mainly from my Wii U and PS4.

I currently have a pretty strong laptop but i bought this card because i read that it's not going to strain my PC that much because it does encoding by itself. Therefore my main question is regarding using this capture card with the intention of making thing easier for my laptop while using OBS so i can have things like webcam, my voice and Livesplit software showing.

From my understanding the Avermedia capture card will stream the actual game but my computer will stream general overlays such as the webcam and the splits while also recording my voice. I read this is also why i have to setup delay on my mic, webcam and splits because the capture card will have about 2 seconds delay.

Or am i wrong thinking like this? , If i choose to Use OBS with splits will my computer instead be the one streaming everything and causing strain on the CPU because then the capture card will just work as the "middle man"?
