Orxon 1 Skip for Any%

From watching a few RaC1 Any% and AGB runs, there appears to be a visual clue in Orxon 1 which makes it more consistent to push Clank through the wall. I have tried to see what this visual clue is from the runs, but I can't seem to apply it myself. From what I've seen, you place Clank on the left-most side of the tree, and you are watching the tree sway to the left, and just as it's about to sway to the right, you jump through. However, when I try to apply this myself, it doesn't seem to work (I have and will be practicing it to try and get this skip consistent for myself as well).

I have tried to look around for a consistent setup so that I can try to perform this strat, but it has been to no avail, however if someone could possibly update me on the setup for the strat, I would be very grateful indeed :)

Orxon 1 skip depends on the TV you have for some God awful reason. Apparently the smaller the TV the easier it is.

Well that is quite strange, I will admit. When I was practicing earlier, I was using a fairly large widescreen TV, but I do have a small monitor at my disposal which I can connect my PS3 to. I will attempt with a smaller screen to see if it works better at some point :) thanks for the advice

Yea I use either a 18in flatscreen or one of those gaming briefcase things and it works pretty well

It has nothing to do with size of your TV/monitor. it has to do with overscan. Overscan will cut off part of the game and completely change the visual clue. Always check to make sure overscan is off.

After doing a bit of digging around, I found out that my TV doesn't have Overscan, instead uses Aspect Ratio. I would assume that setting this to 1:1 would do the trick, though, if my memory serves me correctly, since RaC1 only runs in 720p for me, I think the image will look letter-boxed in 1:1 (which is a little strange) though I will have a look to see if this fixes the issue and respond as necessary

lol on orxon with clank it has a big glitch, i've done that in 2008 but never recorded (skiping to info bot with ratchet = 2 infobot with clank)

If you ever find out how to do this again that'd be really helpful for the speedrunning community as it would then skip Pokitaru completely. Only thing is, however, don't we need to O2 mask for Gemlik Base, so we would still need to get the O2 mask since Clank would not be able to go through Gemlik Base

We don't need the O2 mask for Gemlik. The game just gives you it once you reach Gemlik.

Hello, I am new in the Speedrunners communtiy. I want to say hallo to all. And im trying to learn how to speedrun this game. And i am right now at the Orxon 1 glitch. I get through the wall at the tree with fairly no problems, but the glitch at the pipes never gets me high enough to reach the platform. Does someone know what I have to do to get it to work? Are there settings in the PS3 version that I have to do? I am using the German PS3 DL Version. Is it possible that this won't work in the German version of the game?

Greetings and thanks, Dabako

Okay thank you very much. I will look into this because the German PS3 is running on 50hz. I have seen that i can install a debug tool on the ps3. Is it legal to use this to change the locales?
