I tried it out and I like it. It's very consistent and easy to grab.
Alternatively to the pipebomb its very good to just stun the joe and kill it. It takes a max of 8 seconds and still saves you over 10 compared to the old M7 flare strat.
I have one problem: When you go by the 3 guys, how do you make the alien kill them consistently? I take the way you take going through the right side. But they sometimes are still alive. Trying to hit a box in the middle with the jack sometimes makes the guys kill you, but it makes the alien drop when you're already in a safe distance. When you run (not psychorun) past them, they sometimes kill you and the alien doesn't drop sometimes.
So very good strategy, should be normal in the future. You only need a stun (that you always have). Low%

The alien is scripted to drop and kill the humans if you sneak past them without being seen. If their dialogue gets interrupted it means you've been spotted.
It may take some practice to get it consistently. Historically, it was easier for most any% runners to do this when the patrolling human was on the left side of the room as Amanda dropped of the vent. However, it's still possible to sneak past him when he's on the right side (it is just harder).
Did some testing on it with twitchy last night. He mentioned when the guy is on the right simply crouch to his left with your back toward the mid structure and wait for him to turn around. He will turn your way but won't spot you, so just move on. I like the strat, overall safer and able to loot warehouse without fear of humans in hall way. After timing it I matched my flare strat after some practice.
Quick question:
How much of a time save is there with the pipe bomb strat.? Like if you can get the prompt instantly, and your hacking is fast, how much faster is it in comparison to the flare strategy.
At least 20 seconds. The flare strat is like 2:30+ (from dropping out of the vent to the elevator button).
It's at least as fast as the no flare yolo strat (which has a "target time" of 2:05).
With this strat, you can probably get 2:02 or lower if you get the prompt instantly, hack brilliantly, and drop the pipe perfectly.

You can walk (I always run) up all the futon and the prompt window of the hack is getting huge.

If you have the pipebomb at that stage, spend it, since you can grab 2 blasting caps on the next room, and that's the only scarce component.
Once you have 2 blasting caps, is easier to make a pipebomb than a molotov, because the next more scarce component is ethanol, and the bomb requires only 1 ethanol, less than for the molotov (2).
But meanwhile returning from grabbing the hack tool upgrade, you can also shot the android with the revolver with the advantage that he will run to you, saving more time meeting his body. Maybe leaving a flare at the entrance door makes him walk to it, cutting even more time.
