Quick question about pausing

Is pausing the game to alter aiming sensitivity (and then pausing it again to revert it) allowed? I'm thinking of trying that to see if I can get a better incinerator with Ada.

I'm asking because afaik the only rule about pausing is the 2 minute rule.

United States

As long as you're not paused for more than 2 minutes. You're fine. That shouldn't take more than a few seconds.

United States

Yes, you are allowed to do that. Only thing you can not do is, change FPS settings during the run, and Graphics Settings may only be changed at Boss fights (and must be shown)

What about pausing after checking the dials to figure out the moves needed? I'm seeing people do that now.

United States

@des_refan It shouldn't take you longer than 2 minutes to do the puzzles. All in all, you should get to a point where that's not needed eventually anyways.

I mean people are now pausing after checking the dial codes, looking up or thinking about the solution, then unpausing.

United States

@des_refan As long as it's no longer than 2 minutes then it's fine. Anything longer and it's invalid.

Pausing doesn't effect how fast or slow the run is because we use IGT to time the game. The timer isn't moving when paused, but neither are you. In your scenario you would still win if you had the fastest IGT. Runs are based on how well you perform your actions, not your inaction IE: pausing the game.
