Leaderboard Changes from 4.0.0

4.0.0 is out and a bunch of stuff has changed for speedrunning I haven't made any changes yet but I will do so soon

Any%: Will be split into Legacy / Current when someone does a run on 4.0.0. I've allowed 1.0.0 for Legacy as well now.

100%: New modes actually do reward you with a crown on your save file. Once someone who's good at the game completes a run that gets the crown, I will probably move 100% to misc. (By "good" I mean someone who didn't just do a run with no practice to get an easy wr)

Guest Stars: I will add Wave 3 soon

Heroes in Another Dimension: I will add 2 categories: Any Rank and S Perfect Rank Self explanatory

The Ultimate Choice: New mode has been added, will make it into a category.

Sounds good, but that any% is quite the predicament

Japan

About Any%, There is a possibility that more glitches will be fixed in the future. If removing WR, we have to remove WR every time it gets delayed by bug fix. I don't think it is a good idea.

United States

Yeah, idk though because we can’t really just leave it like normal, because then the world record would be unbeatable

I was thinking about making a legacy board, but you'd have to remove a number of runs from the leaderboard, which I don't want to do, Sokuno's is the only problem

Japan

Removing his record has several problems.

  1. He ran to seriously without cheating, leaving a great record. That record should remain forever.

  2. Removing Sokuno's record, Dan gets WR. Someone may think that you got WR unjustly because you are a moderator.

  3. Also someone may think we should remove Dan's record, because Physical version WR is Dan's record.

  4. Removing his record spoils the WR history.

  5. Sokuno's record is famous to Japanese people. He has also made Japanese commentary videos. Removing his record would antagonize the Japanese.

These problems can be solved by separating leaderboards. Even though this is troublesome, you should do this.

England

Sokuno has a 1:26 without ESP fight skips, I would add that instead

If we where to seperate boards, I think we could do Legacy and Current, and every single run would be on legacy This might be annoying to people but everyone can improve their times

(Even Sokuno)

I will do this once someone does an any% run on 4.0.0

I will not do this to 100% btw, I think 100% should be moved to misc. anyways

Japan

About 100% + DLC, There is one problem. It is where to set the timing end. Because the order of every modes is free. I think when beat Void in Soul Melter EX is good, but we need to discuss about this.

England

The problem with that is that it is hard to end time correctly, and it means you have to do SEX last, which shouldn't be necessary I think Either

  1. When you press A to confirm your time
  2. You show your Crown on your save file
  3. If you get 100% after all the other modes, when 100% shows up (You can do the minigames after)

In any case, this category will require the task of finally confirming the crown. It is reasonable to set when confirmed crown.

So are old 100% runs being removed completely? Or just moved to misc and 100% +DLC will be new main 100% category?

I just wanted to give my own feedback on this. I noticed the Mario Odyssey leaderboards have different categories for game updates (Legacy Versions and Current Version).

So maybe we can do something like that for any%. Leave all older runs in a Legacy Versions category, and make a category for runs done on 4.0.0.

England

I have decided to allow 1.0.0 for any% and 100% now, as that is the only way to keep doing legacy Using hacks in order to get digital 1.0.0 is also allowed

I've combined all waves into 1 dlc sub category for Guest Stars This is due to the fact that everyone loses interest in older waves once a faster one comes out (Including all the top runners)
