Hi everyone,

i'm quite old to gaming itself, but just recently discovered speedrunning as a new potential hobby of mine.

My current consoles are: Atari 2600, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Mega Drive, Dreamcast & PS 1-3

As for now i have everything set up for recording and decided to start with some PS 1 games, but i haven't decided on which one to focus yet, so it may take a while until i upload my first runs.

What i found out already is that i seem to have a problem handling the timer correctly while playing. How do you place your hardware and which hotkeys do you use to optimize the process?

Looking forward to a good time with you guys,

Cheers Snyder

Heyy :) I hope it goes well :3 I use live split and I use q to start and stop my timer personally ^^

I use the ~ key for splits personally, since it's a key I basically never use outside messing with MS-DOS. But I don't run console, which I'm sure make's it a little bit more difficult in terms of arranging your gear in a way that is functional and comfortable.

Eventually I will look into getting some sort of USB foot pedal that I can use as a means of hitting splits without having to use my hands. In the mean-time though, the best I can do is try to position splits at points in game play where my hands have nothing to do for a few seconds.

Welcome, btw.

Good luck on your runs and welcome aboard. I use a button on my controller to split, but my controller is USB making this function possible. Trial and error until you find what works for you!
