Rules and Info for Any% (Wii, PS2, PSP)

So since there have never been any defined rules for this category, i have came up with some that would make it easier for new people to understand the differences between normal Any% and this one.

-Timer Starts as soon as the loading screen for On The Job Training appears on screen. -Split after you press + on the end of mission stat screen -Timer ends after you skip all cutscenes after defeating Shandor. Including pressing + on the final stat screen. -The Skip on Under New Management MUST be done, as not doing it prevents any WR attempt.

I also think there should be a 100% category for the Wii/PS2 version as well. If it is added i think the rules should be:

-Same timing as Any% -Collecting all Art Pages -Obtaining All Scans -Unlocking All Unlocks INCLUDING Completing the game on Gozerian Difficulty.

Speaking of the PS2 Version (for new runners) Do not run using this version of the game. For starters the Under New Management skip does not work at all, the game is laggy and freezes constantly forcing you to reset the entire system, load times are also very slow. If you run the PS2 version for some reason, expect your time to be upwards of 45mins to 1 hour longer than a normal Wii run.

During my time running i have noticed some anomaly's with the game.

  1. All versions are unpredictably glitchy during Splitting Up (Part of the Return to Hotel Sedgewick) Sometimes. A: the cutscene trigger near the start of the level is bugged and takes forever to trigger preventing any further progression. B: Sometimes the floor to the locked door area fails to load and you fall into an endless abyss. C: some times the aforementioned locked door fails to open after capturing all key ghosts.
  2. Only once have i ever seen this happen, but during the level Hot Pursuit (During the Museum section) the doors that are supposed to close and lock never do, allowing you to walk straight through skipping 90% of the level and saving 10 mins during a run. It is also worth noting that this A: occurred on the PS2 version. and B: during a replay of the level. Like i said i have never gotten this to work again.

Ok, I like the start and end times, but I don't want to restrict people to use the same splits, if they want to do it by location instead of missions. Also I don't like the idea of requiring any sort of skip if they don't want to.

I'll check with Damarshm0nster, if I can start adding wii/ps2/psp 100% and co-op.

I do it by mission just cause it seems more in line with how this version of the game is done, but i get doing it by location too, but even then you would still end up splitting at the same time, just not after the end of every mission, the reason i want to require that skip is because it saves almost 2 mins, isn't hard to do and at this point is almost already required to get 1st unless you save time in other areas as well

Could always do a glitchless category.

i was thinking about that, but sometimes the game will do random stuff on its own which would make glitchless very random

Having just completed a co-op speedrun with a friend, this verson of the game is very glitchy, soft-locked about 4 times and hard-crashed once, so I too agree that glithless might not be possible.

Wii isn't that bad, softlocks are semi common, ive only ever had a hard lock once, PS2 is just horrible, it never soft locks, it just locks the entire system. The only major issue ive had on Wii (which is probs a fault of my almost 9 year old system than the game) is that the video goes out every once and awhile. To be honest Splitting Up is the worst level (glitch wise) in the entire game. Just in my last run, the locked door leading to 1221 failed to open even after i got all the key ghosts, sometimes you'll just fall through the floor, its just a complete mess.

i just watched your Co-op run, and my god that was very glitchy i have never seen anything that bad, having the Spider boss glitch like that multiple times in a row is just insane, either way congrats on finishing that run, makes me actually want to do a co-op run in the future as well. Wish i was there for the run, i could have been a huge help there for you guys. Oh and one other minor thing, the Co-op Cat says (Wii,PS2) Co-op is only available on Wii.

I have just found something Major. You move slightly faster with the Female rookie than you do the Male, it takes 6 seconds to travel the top floor of the firehouse with the Male and only 5.5 seconds with the Female, its slight but still a time save.
