Reporting a run for being cheated when the run submitted was moderated by the runner?

I just found that the fastest time for CS:GO's gun range (https://www.speedrun.com/csgo/run/zxv5q7gy) was cheated.

It's kind of disappointing that it was approved by the very person who submitted it when there's other moderators that could have.

And it was in fact blatantly cheated,

The message "Achievements disabled: cheats turned on in this app session." shows up when sv_cheats was set to 1 at any point. You can for example do the following commands:

sv_cheats 1; sv_autobunnyhopping 1; sv_cheats 0;

This would show as sv_cheats being set to 0, but because it was triggered in that session, achievements are disabled.

I even went out of my way to install the demo viewer version, just to give him the benefit of the doubt. Nope, it only happens if sv_cheats 1 was already triggered, even in the version he uses as an excuse for not showing whether autobunnyhopping was on.

To add on to this, the second run has all the same faults, runner is also the verifier, and sv_cheats was on beforehand.

Third run also had sv_cheats on, fourth run looks the most legitimate of them all (he didn't bunny hop so I don't believe there's a need to show the console, but he didn't show it anyway therefore it should be invalid.)

The first legitimate run starts in 6th place, the console is clean and doesn't show any indication sv_cheats was on.

You could ask the other mods, theyre still able to remove the run and remove mod status from that person.

This will keep coming up, since the csgo board is so poorly handled. He'd just be wasting his time going to the forum for the game.

Also, 3 out of 4 mods are being accused of cheating by him, so I'm sure they'll listen to what he has to say..

I'm not aware of precisely how this game works. 4 people are modding over about 300 runs and this is only the second time in some months this complaint has come up. It seems unlikely to me that the mods are maintaining some massive conspiracy.

I would recommend discussing it with the other mods/runners under the context of "Why does this message show up in the console after the run?" I agree it seems a little strange, but maybe there's a reasonable explanation for that message. It seems a bit presumptive to jump straight to that conclusion that people are cheating based off a single person's information without discussing details first.

Oh I'm not saying there is a mass conspiracy or anything. At a glance I mostly have an issue with the lazy rules set in place. Clearly there needs to at least be some very clear guidelines so people doubt their runs less.

So what part of the run was cheated?

A bit late but I just noticed this post (I'm one of the cs go moderators). As the message explicitely says, it means cheats got turned on at a certain point during the session. I don't know if you guys actually speedrun this category, but the gun range is located at the very end of the training course. So in order to get to it, you need to do the full course. Obviously that's really annoying, so the vast majority of the runners noclip to it, using sv_cheats 1. It would be stupid not to allow it because it would force everyone to take five minutes to reach the gun range. I also want to say that we currently have strict rules that force players to show a specific set of variables at the end of their run for the top 3 runs, so we can make sure that the commands accessible through sv_cheats are not used.

Was there a need to necro a two-year-old thread? No.
