Adding any% glitchless category

Sorry if this doesn't belong here but is it possible to add an any% glitchless category? Just finished a glitchless run but there is no category for it.

Well since you've actually done a run it's fine but it'd be great if you could list all the glitches/tech you want banned in this category, it's not always clear to everyone what's a glitch and what isn't(for example, shooting nick in the face)

(also I'd recommend highlighting your PB to prevent it from getting removed from twitch if you want to submit it after we add the category)

ahh fair enough. Thank you for the heads up as well, I'll highlight that today.

I think banned stuff should be - cover storing, cash/bullet duping, power suit clipping, load warping/wrong warping, using items to clip or climb over/onto things.

I don't think skipping dialog through shooting or other means should be banned

If anyone else has any ideas on what should/shouldn't be allowed that would be great too.

If you skip dialogue by shooting them or other means than that should count as a glitch. There are dialogue skips in Ocarina of Time such as the rolling goron. You merely pull out an ocarina to avoid dialogue. Simple like shooting an NPC but it still kinda counts as a glitch or a trick.

France

Well, shooting people and triggering a dialogue is allowed by the game, you're just not supposed to do that when a dialogue is already occuring.

But if it's programmed into the game, I'm not sure why it should be banned.

Well technically glitches are programmed into the game, they just aren't intended and people exploit them. So should glitches be allow then if they are in a sense programmed?

France

Well, It's like using the bomb to damage boost yourself in Ocarina of time, they use it during jump to have a supplementary boost. It's also used in the glitchless category.

It's intended by the dev, but not in "that" way, but still legit.

Talking after being shoot is intended by the dev, but not during dialogue.

But that's just my opinion, I'm not planning to run the game in glitchless anyway.

Oh you make a point about being shot to skip talking, I apologize then.

alright, is there anything else needed to make a category for this?

Added now. Go to the leaderboard and click on "Show misc categories" in the top right.

Thank you very much!

It'd be nice if you submitted something too, just so we don't have an empty category lying around :P

haha sorry about that, Was having a little trouble on my end, most recent pb up and willing. Doing at least 1 run a week and only getting better.

Quick little question, Is robotic expert sniping considered a glitch or is it allowed in glitchless? Since when you use robotic expert next to a robot your character input the pipboy cable into the bot. How to do it: Aim at robot, press hack. Example shown here (video is with PA, but the same is possible without PA)

Is anyone interested in running glitchless on very hard? I'm quite curious and kind of excited to speed run glitchless on very hard, but I hope there are others in the community who would want to do so as well. I think running the game on very easy seems boring.

But to me it's an actual challenge. There is more skill involved, and I think the route is more complicated and therefore more interesting. Does anyone want to help me plan a run out?

Why do you kill the members of the Railroad after the decode the courser chip?

Belgium

I don't think the route would really change on Very Hard. We would make a mix of Theninththoughts and my route which is not by the destroyers left leg early but keep the 5mm ammo to kill stuff or buy stims/medx etc. and use robotic expert at Mass Fusion. Probably getting some extra mininukes. It might actually be fun to do a very hard or survival run :)

I'm putting together a route for VH now. This is what I have so far.

-Put your three extra SPECIAL point into Luck when building the character

-Go to Robotics Disposal Ground after Sanctuary immediately after exiting the Valut. You will collect two military grade circuit boards, a fusion core, at least one stimpak, a randomly generated medical box, and most importantly a fat man and a mini nuke. This will allow you to speed up the fight with the Deathclaw and skip going to Goodneighbor later in the run.

-Head southeast of the Robotics Disposal Ground and transfer the randomly generated power armor there to your inventory. Whatever pieces of armor are on the frame will either be at max health or close. Try and remember which pieces you take

-Go to Concord and complete the quest there. Be sure to collect the Perception bobblehead by Preston Garvey. Use the fat man and a critical to try and hobble the Deathclaw. Use the diners for cover as you shoot out the windows, because the Deathclaw can actually kill you on Very Hard. Ditch the armor in front of the Museum and collect armor off of Raiders.

-Use the same route as far as the Charles View Amphitheater, where you'll get a mini nuke.

-This is where my route differs greatly from the Very Easy run. Because I already have a fat man and mini nuke, I go straight to Vault 114 and skip Goodneighbor. Also, depending on how good your item spawns have been, you'll have enough stimpaks and maybe even some meds such that whatever you could purchase from Goodnighebor won't be worth it. Use the road leathers & armor from the raiders to go for DR over energy resistance. Afterwords, go to Diamond City. Use your fourth level up perk on pickpocketing to speedily get Kellogg's house key from the mayor. Meet with Nick, loot Kellogg's house, and initiate Reunions. Fast travel to Mass Gravel and run to Fort Hagen, using the Nuka Quantums and Cherrys from Kellogg's house along the way.

-Upon arriving at Fort Hagen, fast travel to the Museum of Freedom and grab your power armor. Swap in fresh pieces you picked up at the beginning. Fast travel back to Hagen. You want to sprint through the dungeon as much as possible and on Very Hard it's probably much more doable with armor. You should approach from the basement, because there is an enormous amount of medical loot near the bottom entrance. After using the elevator, near Kellogg, there's a final bottleneck hallway with two synths that is extremely time-consuming and difficult if you don't use power armor. Burn through your meds to keep yourself alive and fighting as this is one of the slowest dungeons in the run.

-Use the fat man and a crit to kill Kellogg. Allow his synths to get near him first to save time. Unlike on Very Easy your probably can't ignore them and let them shoot at you while you check the computer. -When you exit Fort Hagen from the top, use quicksave manipulation to destory a turret and get a biometric scanner.

-Fast travel to diamond city. Ditch you power armor. Seek Piper and initiate the next part of the main quest

-Fast travel to Charles View Theater and run to Goodneighbor. Use one of Kellogg's stealth boys to steal a mini nuke from Kel-o and a grenade from Farenheit. Buy a fusion core. Head to the Memory Den to initiate the next phase of the quest. Fast travel back to Diamond City and enter your power armor before heading to Virgil. You use the armor for three reasons: One, you'll need it before making your way through Greentech later on, so entering it now saves you a trip. Two, the far greater radiation resistance allows you to save supplies in regards to health and rads. And three, you will have to take damage in the rad walk and this makes it even safer. After talking to Virgil, fast travel to Greentech Genetics.

-Sprint through the level. Use the fat man to kill the Gunner with a missle launcher. Take the missle launcher and the two missles. Use these to kill the courser. On Very Hard there is basically no way to just sprint through the level without power armor.

-Use the missle launcher to kill the courser. Collect the mini nuke hidden near him. Once outside fast travel to Goodneighbor, ditch your power armor, and head to the Old North Church. You'll have a military circuit board from the Robotics Disposal Ground and a biometric scanner from Fort Hagen.

This is where I've hit a wall, because I don't quite understand the mechanics of manipulating the final quests and so i don't have an optimal route planned. These are the perks I've planned out so far, in the following order: Level 2: Action Boy/Girl 3: Solar Powered 4: Rifleman 5: Pickpocket 6: Toughness 7: Life Giver 8: ??? (you should be level 8 by the time you reach the railroad)

I'm also thinking about ways to farm fusion cores since you need more....You can activate the sentry bot when you first travel to the Robotics Disposal. The bot goes through a long routine before you're able to get it to self-destruct, so after activating it you can continue with the quest. Later, rather than buying a fusion core in Goodneighbor, you can fast travel back there, blow the bot up, and take the gear on it.
