So i was watching AAAA08 Recent speedrun and at the part where you sit down and watch the video and somehow the TV explodes a second in before it starts. Anyone know how this could have happened or is it just a random bug? It happens at 1:33:58

What the hell. That's interesting.

Bosnia and Herzegovina

how did that happen wtf ?

The timing for the other case was also after this particular example (it blew up after Lucas said Ethan the second time if I recall right), so it's not a timing thing it seems.

Weird. Both instances were also on PS4.

It appears to be completely random. There was another thread about this from about a month ago. https://www.speedrun.com/re7/thread/h0q9h It doesn't seem that it's able to be replicated outside of a random occurrence.

but it makes me wonder. Should someone's run be accepted when that happens? It would seem unfair to have it be placed high on the list just because they had a bug happen in their run while others haven't had that happen in their's.

and he is playing on the jap version so double time save

If it can be proven this is the cause of a HDD error or fault of the system rather than the game, then all runs including this would unfortunately have to be rejected.

Most important part is working out if it can be replicated. If not, then something would probably be done about the runs including it.

Some previous post about this skip has been made. People tried to replicate it without success.

Anyway if this happens to more people maybe there is a workable method to get that skip working. Bug or not this should not be accepted without clear how-to reproducing. (speaking for myself)

this has already been seen before and has been attempted to be replicated many times on top it's not related to just the jp version it happen on a English version, all we know is it just happens and our only guess is it's fault hardware

So I have a question. Let's assume in the future this "glitch" is decided to be a HDD error or fault, and it's decided that all runs that it occurs in will be rejected. What would happen to a run that's already on the leaderboard and that this fault occurred in that run?

United Kingdom

Those times would be removed if it can indeed be confirmed this is the cause of a hardware error and not a game bug.

It doesn't really matter how old runs are on the leaderboard. If they gained a time advantage on others due to a hardware malfunction, they would be removed regardless.
