Doll in red hallway patched?

Hi @lanzaa, @A2ombie and everyone else

Yesterday, after a few runs, I realized I couldn't turn my back at the doll in the red hallway in Brush anymore. Doing it saved almost 10 seconds, because it made your character die faster.

However now, everytime I trigger it, the game locks my camera on the doll, making it impossible to look away. I tried walking backwards before the trigger, but the game locks my mouvements and rotates me around to look at it.

  • Videos of it: / / For these 3 clips, I was moving my mouse like crazy and nothing happened, I could only move it up or down.

So has the game been updated? If yes, is there any way to go back to previous versions? Because if there's no way to turn my back to the baby anymore, the fastest time I can get is the one I already have... Or at least I'll never be faster than 32:30.

i dont think there has been a significant patch for this game in a while.

that being said, i was running this game last night on steam which im assuming is on the latest version, and was able to do fast baby as normal.

you are probably used to doing the trick that you are inadvertently doing something different. a lot of times when i do a trick that i consider free, after a whille ill start overthinking it and mess it up consistently. i suggest watching your older runs where you got it and comparing it to these to see what you are doing different.

best of luck.

Hi, i just started running this game and curious how you guys get that trick? I run on ps4 so I assume its harder then PC. Sometimes i get it but I have no idea why i got it lol. Is there audio/visual ques that you guys use?

to be honest i was never really sure how this trick worked. my preferred way of doing it is just as the baby's head moves up and before the sound effect, i slowly move my mouse down. shortly after the sound starts i turn around and move back. this is what i did on my switch run but if you look at it, youll notice that its not the fastest skip. if you do it correctly you should start to transition about 3-4 seconds into it. on my switch run it took around 7 seconds. i was messing around just now on my switch and using my same method i can get it for the most part. if you want to see the fastest one you can look at my current pc pb.

on the other hand, you have other people like the current console wr who seem just walk in and out triggering it. if you look at the current wr console run, youll see that they also got the 3-4 second transition. i have no idea how they do this.

in short, no clue. i would try to find a method that works consistently for you and go with it. i never messed with the trick too much once i found my way of doing it.

alright Thank you! I'll try and mess with it as well :)

The way I cue myself for it is a mixture of both the audio and where I think I'm placed. As soon as the audio has that sharp rise, I start to turn and walk forward just a bit so I'm just on the red glow on the floor. (You can see an almost clear line where the glow stops here in my run - )

I then just constantly hold right/back and move away. Works most of the time for me, but I'm not sure if it's an actual set-up or not.
