Puyo BLINDFOLDED is actually possible (and it's easier than you thought).

Okay. Brief introduction. I've been playing different puyo games for a while now, and hadn't started hitting runs until recently (and I admit I have a lot to learn, both skill and mechanical).

For about a week I have been running the "RunRun" course in easy, since the AI is somewhat slower and helps me send the garbage on time.

Anyway, while I was taking a break today I thought that a blindfolded run of this course would really be possible (without using continues). And since I have investigated and I have not found any blindfolded puyo game ever, I wanted to train, you know, to be the first in something.

Theoretically RunRun course is the best for this. Only three colors appear in the first two battles, so the possibility of matching colors is much higher than in normal games. The last game would simply depend on RNG and I love that.

In short, I have prepared everything I need, I have turned the chair 180 degrees and started playing while recording it to analyze everything later, and I was surprised that after just over 5 minutes of starting recording I have succeeded.

Above is the recording of this session (slightly edited to avoid wasting time). I know that it cannot be considered valid formally since I have not used any type of camera that shows that I am blindfolded, but still for me it is a totally legitimate attempt.

It has been quite fun and I advise you to try it. As general advice, I recommend to listen carefully how long it takes for the puyo to fall to know how much distance is left to the ceiling, and before being in a critical situation the music will change, so you do not have to overwhelm yourself in really long games.

I'll keep reporting if I get some better time or if get another interesting tip on this topic around here.

What do you guys think about blindfolding in puyo?
