How do you skip the eye appearing and destroying sections?

In both of the sub-5 runs on here, they skip the eye appearing in the sky and the prism on top of the tower destroying the eye. I'm assuming they just press q, but I can't get it in my run. Is it frame-perfect or similar?

Im not sure, but if you watch my run it takes a few seconds for it to work, I assume you have to wait a little. but I just spammed q as I knew that worked. So give that a go

I wrote the developer that it would be cool if it was possible to skip the eye cutscene. He then implemented a feature for speedrunners to be able to press Q. You just have to enable that feature in the settings!

Ok thanks! If I'm right (I'm probably not but whatever) I think that "q" skips are in the regular game with no settings changes, and speedrun skips, in settings (which I didn't have enabled), can skip the eye parts.

Yep thats right! For now and as far as I know the "speedrun skips" option is for skipping the evil moon animation/cutscene.

Here is what Jason Godbey (the developer) answered after my request for the skip: "Only concern I have is if people are playing for the first time and are constantly skipping the ladder cutscene in the basement. If they skip the part where they eye appears it will probably be confusing as to what just happened. I might consider doing a "speedrunner skip" option and put it in the Settings menu to allow these cutscenes to be skipped. Just want to make sure first time players don't skip these by accident."

This was his answer after an update: "Just added a "Speedrun Skip" option in the Settings menu. If that is checked before the cutscenes are run you should be able to skip them."
