Do you like it when people post the same run in different Categorys?
Germany

Sometimes i have it that runners submit their 100% run in all lower % Categorys too. While i think that it isnt against the rules i dont like it,because it is not a serios run for that category. Whats your opinion?

I'd simply deny it tbh O.o I have never heard nor seen anyone doing that either

0.0 I though that was a common thing

Jumpyluff did it for Muppet Monster Adventure.

What do you think about using parts of a longer run as submissions for a shorter category, rather than using the exact same run in full? For example, timing a segment of a full run to post as an individual level.

I don't see the problem with it. So they have a shit time for a faster category. This affects you how? If any% and 100% have the same WR, do some any% runs, rekkie should be free.

If it's a game where you can keep playing after the ending (to get full completion), then certainly there should be no issue if the pre-ending portion of the 100% run closely resembles a normal any% run and is submitted as such.

Honestly why deny it? It's called ANY%. That means you have to finish the game with whatever progress you'd like to finish it. If he thinks finishing the game with 100% is the fastest in any% category, so it shall be.

@ OddsomeOddy

Finishing a game in 100% is never the fastest in any% category '-' I think there's nothing avoiding the dude to make another run, so why double posting it? I guess mods should deny it by default.

But anyway... Whatever you guys decide

There are certain instances where I can understand using a segment of a run submitted in a different category.

Something like using your FF7 escape from midgar time from a full run or running a Mega Man game and submitting your 8-robot master time seems like it should be ok.

" If a board doesn't have any runs on it (a lot of boards including ones I moderate via series), adding the portion of the 100% run as any% isn't good practice. I feel this way as there could be a time where someone becomes interested in that game and they (like everyone else) come to the board to watch a run. Sure, if someone was REALLY interested in the game, they'll run the game and potentially beat it at some point however, if they watch the run and have no prior knowledge of said game, it'll seem like more work than what is really required and will most likely go fuck off somewhere else. Is this what you should want for your board, let alone your game? I would hope not. "

If it isn't, and you give a quarter of a shit, do some runs yourself. Get a better time, a more representative time for the category up and accounted for. If your game has a 5 hour 100% and a 90 minute any%, you aren't helpless to have that 5-hour time show up as the any% WR.

If you're not interested in the run or category, why are you a mod for the game?

OK the attitude is really not necessary. But, thanks for being a complete dick for no reason :)

I thought we were having a conversation. Apparently you're better than that. Have a nice day.
