Waiting to receive my region free Mod for my PS1, I'm training on Emulator.
I'm currently having some bad Speed issues with it.
To understand it precisly, i did the first race several times. Doing that, i always have a bad LiveSPlit time regarding other speedrunners with exact same inGame Laptimes ( I loose ~7.5 sec at first split, compared to Calcifer050 run, with exact same ingame Laptimes). I'm running on ePSXe.
I have changed all video settings to go on "faster" mode, but still have the issue.
I have changed to Mednafen then. I still have the issue, but the effect is a bit weaker (I loose ~5.5 sec at first split)
On Both Emulators, i'm running a US version of R4, with a US BIOS ( SCPH 7001) Do you have any hints on how to configure those emulators (or maybe another one?) to get the best performance?

I'm not very familiar with using emulator.. Hopefully someone could help you though! One problem I notice with your post is, that SCPH-7003 is NTSC-J, not NTSC-U/C BIOS. NTSC-U/C BIOSes have last digit in model number as being 1. For example SCPH-7501. If last digit is 0 or 3 it is NTSC-J and if last digit is 2 it's PAL. Hopefully that's enough to resolve problem!
Actually you're right, i have installed SCPH7001, i made a mistake in my post. Thank you for pointing it out. I have just corrected it!
ePSXe 1.9.0 is slightly faster than 2.0.5 but also less stable, 1.9.0 should be not allowed in terms of speedrunning in my opinion... Basically, PS2 is the fastest possible device you can speedrun this game on. Double check FPS, you maybe limited emulator to 50 FPS. Also, image below is my setup for speedrunning, except that FPS LIMIT, I'm using auto-detect. I'm using Pete's GL2 core plugin.

Unfortunatly, I have some issues with my PSOne (Call me Jinx)... Sooo i'm still trying to be able to speedrun on ePsxe in good conditions.
I asked Alzeri some questions about the 1.9.0 restriction, which i clearly understand. He suggested that i show you the differences i see between 1.9.x and 2.0.x version. So let's GO!
As a comparison, i will take my own game on espxe 1.9.0, my own game on 2.0.x, some random guy on the leaderboard on PSX Emu, and some random guy on PS2
Il will take a set where we all choose PRC/Assoluto (to have the least amount of inputs required). What i want to show mainly, is the time require to make the first race start. I will also take a bit of the beginning of Helter Skelter to have all the different chronometers. Please expect maybe a day of delay to let me work with the comparison video.
