General Routing Thread

That routing idea is really easy to test, it was brought up a lot yesterday, someone just needs to time the load from going to save point to gummi world screen and then load from gummi screen to loading back into TB. If those loads are a time you reasonably expect to save on UFO then it can be worth. Since you do not gain anything of strong worth on UFO the actual timing of it becomes extremely easy since you have the same effective power. You still should level TT to at least 1 even with that route. You are just losing stats if you choose not to upgrade TT keyblade.

Any reason not to grab the Gold Amulet in Toybox? It's in a chest right after the vent section and tossing it on donald or goofy will greatly increase munny earned throughout the run. Could maybe skip grabbing other things to sell later on and just generally buy more ethers.

Probably a good idea to grab it, haven't read the description of it to see how much munny it generates. But regardless its close enough that if you grab it worst case scenario is you are only losing a few seconds. If it generates enough you can guarantee a 5 magic ring purchase in final world.

Just to add onto munny stuff in Toy Box Rizz was mentioning, there is a chest above the entrance of the Toy Store (inside) which has a Petite Ribbon, pretty sure it sells for 750 off the top of my head

New Frozen idea, go frozen first, get thundera and leave for monstropolis. Only requires you to do half the larxene nobody fights and you get it directly next to a save point. Downsides are obviously load time, and you do not get far enough in for 3rd accessory slot (you get that after olaf mob fight, only problem with this is there is not a good save point at all in frozen to leave after getting 3rd accessory. Next free one would be after marshmellow fight). Also still haven't fully tested all of frozen first, but just floating ideas for people that like experimenting with different routes.

Currently routing Monstropolis myself and my main issue with that idea (a great one btw) is that there are some thunder focused heartless in the world so not sure if the time save would be enough, out of all the fights the first forced fight seemed like the biggest issue, but with the new Ralph strat in KoC w/Water Cufflink you can now waterza the small unversed and get the fight more consistent

Only 1 forced fight includes the thunder heartless, which that room is a big issue in both doing it first and 2nd just because there are so many of them and they move around really quickly, seen that fight done differently a lot because its such a painful room. I have only tested monsters 2nd and not the partial leaving of frozen. The mob fights go super fast but that has only been tested with thundera + the 3rd accessory slot not just thundera. Either way ye needs testing not enough data as think I'm only one throwing it occasionally in runs.

Updated on the idea of Thundara first before Monstropolis idea. Did a run last night where I decided to flip back to all of Monstropolis before visiting Frozen at all because I thought it was faster, but despite having what I thought was a good Monstropolis and then doing Frozen I had lost time on the Monstropolis/Frozen world segment in total (Was only 14 seconds) when I honestly was expecting to save substantial time.

Not saying this is conclusive evidence or anything like that, more or less just results after doing a few runs with getting Thundara before Monsters and then going back to the vanilla world order. (Just really hard to time a route change like this because of the amount of fights it impacts, all of Monstropolis forced fights [except the electric room fight] and 3 Frozen forced fights)

EDIT: I'm partially an idiot and forgot big time loss in Frozen, either way I think both routes are fairly close and once you practice either or enough until there is a solid way to test they may just both be up to preference.

picking up endymion is probably faster. this is a super rough comparison but endymion comes out ahead by around 20 seconds by the end.

the real timesave is probably different but yeah im done messing with this for right now. also I havent timed picking it up on the gummi to pirates and only using it for the last 2 missions, that might end up being more optimal. also also breaking the first treasure sphere gives 2 big engines, but costs 50 seconds. doing that then picking up endy on the way to pirates might also be faster idk gummis suck.

With the gummi comparison its going to be a lot closer than 20 seconds due to the time lost on the boss fights in the comparison video. Monstropolis gummi is a 32 second fight with the proper gun setup (41 in video), Keyblade graveyard boss is about 55 seconds (62 in video). Timings I gave are for 4 blue guns and 3 red guns (yes color matters). I dont have timings for all 4 of each.

I'm bad at gummi bosses but I have gotten 55 on keyblade graveyard boss with endymion. As for the monstro boss I cant get sub 40 no matter the setup so someone good at bosses would have to try that.

I have a gummi world save before monsters so I'll try it and edit this post, important thing is if you are just able to get at least a 34 to skip the 6 seconds of him coming back out.

Could it be worth equipping abilities to the gummi ship, ie the one that increases cannon damage? You unlock them as your ship levels up and I think they’re available when you leave Toy Box. Shouldn’t take more than 10 seconds to equip and might push some more damage through.

With IGT the Magic Boost in KoC takes about 25 IGT seconds to get just an FYI might be worth to get it immediately after beating to have the 1 extra magic for the entire run, probably would make up 25 seconds. Also for potential chariot skip has anyone tried getting Donald Flare from enemies in area then going to the OOB edge? The way Donald Flare works is you go to him, since your partners can go through that invisible wall a bit but you can't that may be one way to test if you can get to the other side of it.

Finland

Fast boat section before Luxord race. Might have time to kill 2 ships optimally. I've seen runners now going towards an island to the left, but this way is even faster.

Ultimate shotlock is based on magic, I didn't try to confirm, but it seems like it.

As soon as you finish monstropolis, thundaza is available to you, go to the upper level, next to the lucky emblem, there's an elevator, in the elevator there's thunder cufflinks. Basically in Olympus you have waterza, firaza in TB, thundaza in Monstro, aeroza in KoC.
