Rules changes (again)

Hello everyone! We've made a few adjustments to the rules:

  1. Emulator runners: you must capture the entire emulator including the window border for the submitted video. An example can be seen here: https://i.imgur.com/OmW2I75.png

  2. Your submitted video evidence must show the game being reset before the run starts. You can accomplish this using a soft reset (A + B + Start + Select) or hard reset (pressing the power or reset button on your console, or using your emulator's reset functionaility). We are adding this rule because of the recent developments in RNG manipulation. We want to make sure nobody is using save states or other artificial means to start the game on a more favorable RNG seed.

I've updated the rules in the pop-up as well.

good on you to make it harder for cheaters (not that we have any) or rng manipulators ( again not that we have any ) to do what they do and give us honest runner a more fair shot.

The rule regarding correct emulator choice has been updated to include other kinds of acceptable proof.

Another rule about emulator functions like savestates, etc. has also been added.

my obs/streamlabs doesn't seem to want to capture the border at the top.. i tried window & game capture but it never includes the top bar. Just the actual game window..

Can anybody teach me lol

If the normal methods don't work, you can try doing a full screen capture and cropping it to include only the window+title bar.

Of course, this means you would need to keep the emulator in the same spot every time you launch it or you would need to frequently adjust the crop settings, but it is a way to do what you want if you've already tried doing it properly.

Some people have also said their EMU used in the comments of the run as well, since this can be an issue when capturing.
