Reviewing the board for a bit, I saw a run that reads "PS3 Emu", which struck me as odd. Do you guys really accept runs from RPCS3 (the only PS3 emulator I know of that's working to date)?

I mean, as much as I love accessibility options, RPCS3 still seems to be in a quite experimental stage, so that got me curious.

Ok, maybe I should have made it clearer where I was going with that question. LUL

Have you guys done tests on the emulator and found it was accurate to the PS3 in terms of load times and whatnot, or was it just a decision you made to open the gates for more runners, no matter the inaccuracies?

That is honestly a very, very bad idea.

You shouldn't blindly allow emulators without properly vetting them for accuracy and functionality. If you do that, you're going to get an LB that is muddled with runs that aren't even viable to compare together, then fixing it after the fact is going to be 10x as hard because you'll have to figure out what to do with the runs if a serious problem is found (like if an emulator doesn't even load consistently as an example). I would highly recommend doing some proper comparisons of emulator before allowing something that is possibly very inaccurate.

I gotta agree with @Timmiluvs on this one. Leaving emulators unchecked can bring some major headaches down the road.

I don't think you need to outright disallow emulators, but doing some tests to see if they're consistent with load times, frame cap and overall speed of the game seems like the best course of action for the time being. :)

After doing some digging, this is like the third time you've tried to advertise this game on the general site forums @Gerarge

Please stop creating threads on this forum to advertise LBs that you moderate - these forums are not made for LB advertisements. It can be highly annoying for users to see many threads that are nothing but posts saying "please speedrun my game". While I understand wanting to grow your community, this is not the way to do it and if you haven't gotten a lot of interest up to this point, you're probably not going to get any if you continue to make threads like this.

This is a mistake that I made when a game I requested first got approved. I got yelled at by a bunch of people, and I learned my lesson. @Timmiluvs already said this, but here is what I'll tell you - don't advertise your game again. If you don't then people won't care that you did, and maybe people who want to run your game will try it.

as a note on the emulators, it's only us two runners, it doesn't really matter how accurate it is. i don't have hours to spend on comparing load times and all that, I do a casual run maybe once a week or less, it's not like we have 30 active runners or something

edit: and, for what it's worth, I'm reasonably sure all the load times are the same since someone is talking during them and it always loads as soon as their dialogue finishes
i don't have hours to spend on comparing load times and all that, I do a casual run maybe once a week or less, it's not like we have 30 active runners or something
This is a very poor excuse. 2 runners or 20 runners, you should always do your due diligence as a mod to make sure your boards are as accurate as possible in case an influx of runs happens. If you don't setup a board correctly now, you'll be regretting it later if you need to untangle an emulator mess then. If you don't have time, or even worse, if you just don't care, to do something as basic as research emulators to make sure they should be allowed, or to figure out if they can be compared to a regular console, then you shouldn't be a mod for that game.

id make ps3 emu a sub category if you really wanted to allow ps3 emulated runs
