Most games will just require a video for a run to be accepted. Although there are cases where a game will only require a video if you reach a certain threshold time.

A timer is optional but can be pleasing for a viewer (some timers are WSplit and Livesplit). If you wish to stream, you can use OBS or XSplit to connect to your Twitch, Hitbox, Beam, etc. account to livestream your runs. Otherwise, any video on YT will suffice for games that require it.

Any other game specific questions can most likely be answered the forums for the game. You can always check the rules too for the game to make sure they don't have anything special that they require such as screenshots of something if you don't have/need a video.

thanks for the introduction drakodan, but you needn't not worry speedrun.com is nothing like TSC.

speedruns requires video proof of 1st place runs where as TSC lets any random BSer post with no proof. So yah im guilty and notorious about bitching about that... just like anyone who loves legitimate competition would.

SRC does not "Require video proof" by default, it is a game-by-game option that the mods of each game reside over. Nor is verification a prerequisite, but it is very often enabled.

Also, TSC does require video proof for WR stats now, so there's that.

Well, video is by default technically I think, but mods have the right to disable it.

game by game basis is much better, as in 99.9% of contested games will require proof. and if TSC actually requires video proof now (which is highly doubtful i'll go check), you can thank me for that. so yes "site staff beware I hate when people post fake records"

I have video proof to support all my runs that I claim. your targeted defamation will get you nowhere. As I have to start somewhere, I've claimed my first WR on speedruns with proof and I will claim more, if you wana race; bring it on. but don't go on a wild unwarranted and baseless rant about me.

I want to use this thread as a teachable moment for a select future speed runners, im now 2 records strong and 2 records under pending (which they are legit, just not verified yet, so you can say 4 records strong, thats and average of over 1 per day). I just want to focus on the fact as a high ranked speed runner you will face great adversity as you progress, and I dont mean just gaming wise.

there are many (in the thousands) other speed runners that want to see you fail, just so in the end game they dont have to compete against you, because they are afriad of the competetion you will bring. please ignore the outside noise, and keep gaming to the best of your ability and then some. there arent mods to stop trolling done by ppl like drakodan, thats just real life, you have to deal with it. If you manage to push through though, you find not only is the grass greener on the other side, its eaisier, dont give up!
