Looking to start speedrunning a new game

Recently while cleaning up old boxes I found my old N64 games.

One of them was "Aero Fighters Assault".

A very fun flying simulation game.

You are piloting one of 6 different Airplanes with unique abilities. Each have a unique missle, gun, block and special move. Each Airplane also has different speeds. Each stage has a objective. Most time it's "kill the boss". On each stage there is that Boss and other enemies. Smaller helicopters, small airplanes and advanced airplanes. I enjoy fighting the advanced airplanes, since they also are basically piloting a Airplane of your caliber. The graphics are quite decent for the N64. The Soundtrack is also quite good in my opinion.

The controls are fairly simple.

I play it on Emulator with a controller since I am missing the power cable for my n64.

Anyway, back to topic:

I haven't found a single speedrun or score run for this game.

The game itself has a decent difficulty. The first stage is very beginner friendly with an easy boss and no hard enemies. The second stage is a water level, your aim is to defeat the giant submarine. This stage has two phases, once you defeat the first giant submarine the second arrives and you need to take that one down aswell. This stage also includes the first advanced airplanes as enemies, which will take you down if you ignore them. The third stage is a giant air fortress with smaller versions of it next to it. This is the stage I am stuck at the moment. Looking at the difficulty I have no idea how I beat the game when I was younger. The stage after that is a giant tank, which is also fairly hard to beat as far as I remember. Stage 5 is the hardest stage. You need to take down the enemy base, which is heavily guarded. Good luck here! Stage 6 is a 4v4 advanced airplane battle. Stage 7 is the final stage in which you have to defeat the alien superboss after a gauntlet.

On Youtube I have found out that there are secret bonus levels which can be unlocked by doing certain things in the game. For speedrunning I'd say we best avoid getting those.

I hope we can speedrun this game together and have lots of fun!

There is that one "longplay" on youtube which goes through all the stages (). I hope this can wake your interest!

Howdy, if you have a new game to submit for a leaderboard, go here https://www.speedrun.com/games and in the top right corner click "request a new game". Make sure you fill everything out as thoroughly as possible to increase the chance that it gets accepted! I've never played that one, but it sounds like fun (like most N64 games).
