Over at the TTYD boards, we have a forum post that's kept up to date with copies of the game that go on sale, making it an easy place for potential runners to find discs that might be difficult to obtain in their region. To accomplish this, multiple game mods are responsible for updating the post periodically. Sometime between 10/10/17 and today, the ability for moderators to edit other moderators' forum posts was taken away, which seems like a silly feature to remove sitewide.
Why do you find that silly? It is a good thing because some people used this power for evil. They edited innocent people's posts and tried to make them look like they bullied someone when they did nothing. I'm actually glad this feature was removed.
To me, mods being able to edit other mods' posts make sense since there's a higher chance these posts are PSAs. You could go an extra step and restrict this to stickies.
It's one of those things where it's clearly a useful feature for decent people who are just trying to use the site; it's just unfortunately the case that there wasn't some sort of edit log, which allowed people to abuse the system for their shenanigans and make it look like other people were saying things they weren't.
