Game Requests still pending 1+ week

Can take up to two weeks (three weeks if the backlog is getting big). I got three submitted, one back from the 16th. Just takes some time.

They also aren't treated in a first-come first-served basis, afaik. Borderline games might sit for a bit while staff research, discuss and consider them.

Just wait for a content mod approve your requests. The time for approval is various, depending on their available time. They can't be on the site all the time

Not sure how much this helps .. may have just been luck.

I submitted a game and didnt put anything meaningful in the Notes (thought that a simple click on the wiki link would be enough). It sat for about 2 weeks with no approval...

I decided to pull it and re-submit, this time I put a fully fledged description in the Notes box explaining what the game is, when it was released and that it was a legitimately purchasable game from shelves in the 90's .. etc.

It was approved the next day.

Might not be anything special .. but maybe just having a proper description in the notes box is enough to make things easier on the moderators.

The notes field are essentially asking "why should we add this?" If you answer nothing, then that's like saying there's no reason they should add it. Glad you added reasons Tenka >_>

Also keep in mind that school/college has been starting up since last week for a lot of folks and some are just getting off vacation, so I assume it'll be busy for another week or two before things speed back up.

So don't be surprised at some slowdowns right now, I'm a parent myself so this has been all top priority for me, I'll probably start getting back to the submissions within the next couple of days myself. One of us just recently got back as well so expect some requests to get pushed through.

As someone else said submissions can typically take up to two weeks depending on a lot of factors and the queue.

@6oliath .. well thing is the only thing the submission form says is "Additional Notes" .. not "Why should we add this game?".

So it's not exactly self explanitory. The form already asks for a link to proof of it being a legit game and your own run would be there for them to see .. I wasn't sure what to really "add" to that. Nothing anywhere said that I had to also on top of that, "sell the game" as well.

I only clued into it from reading the forums and seeing a few comments by mods talking about the notes section. That and also the realisation about how much generic flash games they get submitted daily despite the warning on the game request rules determining them as unnacceptable.

Yeah I think I agree, maybe we could change "Additional notes" to something explicit, like "Explain why it should have a leaderboard on the site."

Stop reading if you're sensitive to cynicism and bait. I cannot resist making this negative joke. I'm not targeting anyone in particular.

We could even add more instructions to be even clearer! Something like this: "Staff have never heard of your submitted game, in all likelihood. That might be difficult for you to understand since you've probably been consumed by the game for the last little while, or maybe because you're 13 and you think this trash Flash is the funniest coolest thing ever. Perhaps you've never had to complete any kind of application form before now. There's a possibility that you're sadly just too dumb to include helpful additional information with your submission. Or maybe you can't use words to convey ideas all that well in English. If any of these apply, leave this field blank and staff will know not to give you the authority to run a leaderboard. Tldr: leave this field blank for administrative purposes"
