I would really like to speedrun this game but I don't have time for a five hour any% run. Is it possible that a shorter, more beginner friendly category like forest/ snow temple rta or something similar could be made or is that just never going to happen?
That would be great, and other runs like the Link to the Past have a master sword category that's only a half hour compared to an hour and a half.
Most games tend to avoid random RTAs like that because you can create dozens of them and it would lead to an overcrowded LB with lots of arbitrary categories that only complete parts of the game. For ALTTP, Master Sword only exists because it was a very old and popular race category that has just kinda been grandfathered onto the LBs.
Obviously I hold no weight in saying yes or no to a category like this ending up on here, but in my experience you probably won't see something like that get added. That being said, I'd still encourage you to do the category (and others you come up with as well) for practice and personal competition which might help if you ever have the time to sit down and do full game runs.
I'll be adding them as Misc. categories. Obviously they might not be as accurate as the other leaderboards because there have been runs of these in the past. They still will follow the same rules as any% and will not allow emulator, or restore points if playing on VC. If you had ideas on smaller RTAs, ping them off me, but please keep in mind I do not want to just add categories randomly. If you want them added, please at least have some proof that you've done the run.

- Take 'Em All On! (Levels 1, 2, 3)
- Goron Shooting Range (Also have to go find the actual name for this)
