Easy Difficulty?

Finishing a walkthrough for this game and I think I might speedrun it on Normal and Hard, so I was wondering if Easy was planned to be added to the board.

Level leaderboards on each difficulty would be interesting as well.

To my knowledge there's absolutely no difference made by what difficulty you play on. I don't recall why I played on Normal when I would've usually played on Easy in this situation, but since there's no difference other than making it harder for yourself on higher difficulties, I don't see why there needs to be three different categories.

That makes sense, I was just wondering cause there wasn't an Easy on the leaderboard settings but there were Normal and Hard.

How about individual level runs? I'd be willing to submit some of those if they get put up.

Sorry, I overlooked that yesterday. I'm a bit 'eh' with IL runs that don't have in-game timers to go by but if you'd like I can try and remember to add them tomorrow. I'll set the timer rules as starting from gaining control and ending when losing control if that's okay

That's a good point about having no in-game timer; I was just trying to expand the categories a bit to make the game a bit more accessible to run. I appreciate a lot that you're expanding them and I'll be sure to send in runs for each level so they have something in them.

Just added ILs. They're based on my splits from my run so let me know if I've made any mistakes.

Thanks a bunch man. Other than a small typo in New Acquaintances everything looks good. I've got another full-game run I'll be submitting soonish FYI

Any reason the difficulty distinction was removed? I can guarantee that difficulty does make a difference enough in the game to the point that it should save a lot of time, even though the run I sent in says the complete opposite. I was already planning on running the game on each difficulty, so it should become more apparent when I send those in. Having the difficulty shown (or set apart) would organize things a bit better - at least in my opinion - because enemies have been considerably easier to kill on Normal than they have been on Hard. If the difficulty doesn't matter to the leaderboards, there's no reason anyone shouldn't be playing on Easy.

If you do put the difficulty in the full-game and IL boards, it'd be cool if they were separated in tabs. That way if a future runner plays on more than one difficulty, their easier difficulty runs don't conflict with the harder ones. I know I'm probably going to be the only runner in this game for quite some time and I apologize if it feels like the changes I'm asking for sound like they're only for me.

EDIT: One example of an enemy being easier to kill are the spiders. It takes two standard grenades to kill a spider on Hard, but on Normal, a grenade either kills or seriously maims a spider. I'm gonna assume a spider just dies almost all the time to a grenade on Easy.

I knew when I was typing it that I'd spell Acquaintances wrong lol

The reason I removed it is because there isn't the competition or need to run on anything other than Easy. If health and damage are the only differences, what's the incentive to play higher difficulties? If this was like GoldenEye 64 and had additional objectives that ultimately change the game experience, then I would add higher difficulties.

It's also worth noting that I added difficulties as a variable, not a category. So you can play on whatever difficulty you want, but if you're playing on Hard you're just making it harder for yourself.

Alright, I can see where you're coming from there. The GoldenEye thing is a good point; I guess if I do end up running on each difficulty it'll just be for myself then. Thanks for explaining your reasoning.
