Vague DM from a nameless user

I got this scammy-looking DM in my messages a few hours ago. It says: "Hello,This is monica kindly get back to me Please for a special reason I am Waiting for you (monicabrownb6@gmail.com)" Anyone else get this in their messages?

Update: Did a Google search on the email "monicabrownb6@gmail.com" and I found a comment on goodreads.com (a book website) with a very similar formating that my message had. So now that I know for a fact it's a scam, I may just go along with it and try to stall and scambait them for as long as possible. This should be fun. PepeLaugh

If it's nameless, that is, the name is just numbers, their account was already deleted so I don't think you're gonna get a reply.

I meant responding to the email itself.

Knowingly responding to a spam email is the absolute worst thing you can do from a self security perspective. You don’t want your email associated with those types of scams, once they get your email address you’re going to be added to more spam lists than you can count and revealing your email address to them is a good way to potentially get your accounts compromised as your email address is often your username.

You do you, but I can’t stress enough they sending an email to that spambot is a terrible idea.

At the risk of stating the obvious, if you get a message like this just ignore it. If the user's account still exists (i.e. they have a username instead of a number) you can report the message, but if the account is already deleted then you can safely ignore it. At some point in the future we'll have a way to clear these so that people don't have to see them at all.

And yeah in general I would advise against scambaiting, do so at your own risk.

I would be using an alt for my email obviously, and they'd be none the wiser. I'm still not even 100% on if I'm going to do it either, but thank you for your guys's concern.
