New member here, I decided to finally get into doing speedruns after lurking for so long. I also have a question. What capture device/video software do I use to record my runs? For now I plan on doing NES, Genesis, and Xbox 360 games to run. Any advice would be a big help!

Capture devices vary by the type of video output. For composite, you might want to look for a GV-USB2, which are a popular choice, and there's plenty of HDMI cards on the market. If you're not willing to commit to a purchase, setting up a video camera should do in the meantime.

I'll definitely look into the GV-USB2 for now, thank you for the information!

Personally I use an Avermedia EZMaker 7 because I don't like the sound quality from the GV-USB2.

I'll admit the video is a bit better on the GV though.
