Uhhh sorry I don't anymore. I just realized that I exported the cropped clip to the original clip which replaced it.
You can sorta tell what happened from the splits. A regular World 1 and 5, then I got second try in 8-2 and it was a serious run. Then was a really good first tower. I got really good RNG on the map after that which broght me another three secondS ahead, and a bad map RNG before the second tower costed me a second. Final castle was all good and I was on pace for 700. Then I failed the jump. I use savestates to practice the jump over and over again, so there's very little chance I would fail it in a run...but I did.

Yeah. Chance of getting it is sorta like fast 4-2 in SMB. We can call it fast 8-2.
Losing a run like this is much more painful than before.

So I guess the only major timesaves left in any% are this and TAS cycle lol

You mean TAS cycle in 1-Tower?
I doubt it's possible. I don't have any experience TASing NSMB, but from watching the encodes I'm guessing you need more than just a few frame perfect inputs. I've tried it and I'd end up getting squished by the first pair of blocks. Even if you somehow get past that you still need to be fast enough to pass throught the third one. As you might imagine every jump in TAS is frame perfect, and even so the TAS was only able to just barely get through the third pair of blocks.
At least I don't think I can do it. Have you done it?

TAS cycle isn't that bad (it still sucks though), especially since it's toward the beginning. It's humanly possible to save a significant amount of time from it and with enough practice it might even be consistent

I'll try it then. Probably a lot harder than fast 8-2 though. Something like four or five frame perfect jumps?

I've made the same mistake about three million times. But it's especially painful this time. Remember how AndrewG messed up the water section after getting both fast 4-2 and BBglitch? That's what it feels like. Of course he had made the same mistake before, but it was devastating to make it at that moment. Same thing here. You can try the shell jump for your self. The chance of saving any time with it (5 tries or less) is about 1/10 or 1/20.

As an update to this thread: I go for TAS cycle in every run now and am somewhat consistent at it; probably like 25%. Also with TAS cycle and 8-T1 cycle skip my sum of best is now sub 23:10 Kreygasm
