Hello! I'm very new to speedrunning and i want to attempt some DS games. Anyone got any tips on how i can record my screen without a capture card? eg. a tripod. thanks!

your best bet is to just get a stand for your phone, point your phone towards the ds and then download an app that lets you use your phones camera like a webcam on your pc so you can have it in obs

@Pear on 2:52 he literally says "....hdmi feeds in to my avermedia live gamer portable capture device" and shows it https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/612660201497296916/879096600033636393/unknown.png

anyway one the answers to op's question is this get a tripod or something to hold your phone and point it towards your ds system. follow a video like () for example to download an app on your phone and pc to be able to use the phones camera on your pc. get OBS studio if you havent already and in it add a window capture and capture the window that shows your phones camera feed (if the way you connect your phone to your pc sets the camera as a webcam device you should add a "video capture device" in OBS instead of a window capture)

Oh, I forgot about that. It’s not integral though. The reason I shared the video was to show the setup for the camera and 3DS. It’s basically the same process as what you said.

yeah it does work as a general guide for setting up the camera :P

They are. It's a sort of weird hivemind cult.

Not like us widedog supporters- we just chill and mind our own business. We don't flaunt it.

But to be actually on topic, @Pear 's right, basically just set up a camera and something to hold it steady and record with that.

Is using snickerstream as a way to record 3DS gameplay allowed?

Ask the mods for the specific game you want to run.
