Problem is people can make up splits and times Vincent, and that's why only splits are not good enough to be accepted. You need video proof in order to show that you did not cheat or hack the game, you abided by the rules, and it reflects badly on the whole community if the WR time does not have video proof so that people can see what you did.

And if you are reacting to my thread requiring video proof, I only said top 5 times. Repeatedly. In that thread.
AND WHY THE HECK NOT, MAKE ALL RUNS REQUIRE VIDEO PROOF!!
This is the solution we need! Just look at mk:dd's main page. It clearly states in the rules that top 10 requires video proof. And don't give me this leaderboard placement > personal improvement crap if mods are denying legitimate runners a chance to compete with the community. It's not just about personal improvement but rather the idea to improve your times to better yourself along with others in the game.

Aeon's comment about manipulating times/splits is common sense. I already know of someone that posted fake times with no video proof simply to test the mods and their run was still added (and no I'm not giving any names)

Physically adding the video requirement to the rules would fix all the problems I've seen so far. If they were clearly posted on the site then Vincent would have made sure he had enough space to record his entire run, otherwise he wouldn't have submitted his times in the first place. It doesn't take a $200 capture card to capture a video of a run and if you've invested your time into speed running then you should have no trouble abiding by the rules and capturing the run on video.
