Alright, I know no one cares about Portal Prelude but I just noticed that a guy posted a run in 3:04, with no proof and an RTA time a minute over his game time, which is stupid as this game as fewer loads than Portal. Although this run is 50 seconds faster than the segmented WR, so I'm asking if any mods can request a video of this run, because if it exists then it looks awesome, or just remove this fake time ? (I post this in the Portal forums because I don't think anyone will notice this in the Prelude forums)
Prelude isnt the same as portal, no one here has any control over it, well no one active at least, only series mods. I guess your best bet is asking blizik or someone directly.
The current mods aren't reading the leaderboards. The active Portal 1 mods can't do anything. That's the reason why I was asking TechnicalGordon's time to be removed.
@TechnicalGordon, I think the point is that anyone can produce an image. A video would be better proof — not infallible though but better.
Well-known runners could maybe have a run/time accepted solely on an image of the splits because they've already proven what they're capable of, but it's obviously different with relatively unknown runners.
Also, you were apparently capable of recording your Portal run, so why on earth didn't you just record your run if you were already timing it?
@madsen, I like your 6180 runs, but I have to be honest with you. His run that just have been removed was obviously fake, beating Diablo by a minute and Diablo's PB is awesome. He is temporary banned from SourceRuns forums and is currently timescaling the vault which is forbidden.
the host_timescale console command is restricted by sv_cheats 1, which you're not allowed to have enabled when speedrunning to stop people from cheating. Its not forbidden as far as the game is concerned but your runs wont be valid as far as the community is concerned.

I don't know anything about you being banned on sourceruns and im sorry if you've had some bad experiences with other runners. It's best not to take what anyone here (or on sourceruns) says too seriously, it doesn't really matter; having fun doing what you're doing is more important.
Yeah, I was looking at past broadcasts too. Didn't see any timescaling there. He left the vault at 57.7-ish seconds RTA which is perfectly normal as far as I know.
@TechnicalGordon, maybe you could do your Portal: Prelude run again and this time either record a demo or video? I mean, if you can get anything close to the time you originally claimed, then this whole discussion would be moot.
Well I don't know what you guys up there are talking about, what i know is that you did an rta run 50 seconds faster than the segmented Wr, so this seems a bit weird, unless you found some new strats but when you see the segmented WR, I think there's no way you can go any faster or at least no way to save 50 seconds, so if you really did this time well just stream a casual no reset run.
You forgot the glitches.... And even if this is true, you can't have over a minute of loads since there is litterally 5 loads in this game, this is litteralyl impossible, it doesn't make sense. And since you have no demos or videos or any kind of proof for that run, until you make another one on stream or with demos, I'll keep thinking this is a fake time.

@TechnicalGordon, You've got the opportunity to redeem yourself here. If your PB is more than 50s faster than the segmented run on a run this short then it shouldn't take too many attempts to do a run that at least beats the segmented run. Even if you're rusty it shouldn't take very many attempts before you're at least sub-segmented again. If you don't think your credibility is worth some 15-20 minutes of streaming that's fine, but don't complain about your run/time getting removed then.
Starting today, runs that require video proof (top 25) and runs beyond that where video is the only form of proof, now require audio, as recording audio for only the game is now a native OBS feature.
