Games dominated by the same people?

I dont know if this is the right section but I was wondering if theres any popular games where one person/the same people hold the WR most of the time?

Examples of this that I think of (may not be completley right) would be Shift and BFBB, Gunnermaniac and Pokémon Yellow, AlexDest and Spyro 2 100%, ZFG and oot 100%

Just curious to know as this might give myself and others new speedrun challenges like trying new games that may not be that popular but have competition

ZFG isn’t a good example imo. He’s an incredible player, but he rarely holds more than one OOT record at a time (although he’s a lock for 100%). While he’s dominant and has the skill to get WR in a lot of categories, there are equally dominant players in the other categories (Marco, Bono, etc).

I think the Zelda games are tough for this because they often have a lot of variety in categories making it hard for one person to dominate them all. But, you could argue Ennopp/Trev for MM and Adam for TP as some examples of mostly dominate players.

That being said, KH1 has a few dominant players. Mist and Zetris are pretty dominant across the various versions and their categories. Ninten is one for KH2. LiquidWifi is one for Simpsons Hit and Run. Those are a few good friends of mine who pop into my head for this topic.

This isn't nearly as popular as OoT or anything like that, but in Batman: Arkham City, cojosao currently holds 7 world records, and he has the world record in every category he's run there. He also used to be very dominant in Arkham Asylum but we've gotten a lot more high level players there in the last year so he no longer holds any records there.

Tanuki holds down all of the Kirby's Dream Land records (other than the meme category). All hail!

Check out my speedgame, The Hobbit. We have quite a bit of competition in the lower places, but the world records for mostly every category have been held by myself on Gamecube and another runner on PC pretty consistently over the last 2 years. As a matter of fact, until recently no one else was within 9 minutes of either of us.

Here's a good example for ya: https://www.speedrun.com/hm64

Literally every time I've beaten his high score, he swoops in, studies my new strategy, then plays it over and over until he beats my time. If anyone takes the top spot in any category, it's usually lost within a couple of days.

EDIT: Emulators are hidden by default (long story), so you'll have to show emulators manually to see all the submissions
