I think the pandemic really inspired me to take up a hobby I've thought about for a long time: Speedrunning one of my favourite old RPGs, FF4 (2 US).

I've really been into glitchless runs - i.e. "playing the game in mostly the way it was intended" and it looks like that category hasn't been as popular. I've been working on my own runs semi-regularly, and last week, came within 20 minutes of the posted record. So, I started filming myself, and then last night got a surprise personal best by a huge margin! I just had to create a profile and submit my run, so I'm hoping it'll be approved.

No matter what, this has been so much fun over the past few months and I want to continue to improve, and perhaps pick up some other games for glitchless running as we go forward. And maybe I'll have the chance to get to know some new friends along the way too. :) :)
