Looking into this category but I only have the English version as of now. Are there any tricks that can't be done in this category due to region?

You lose 5 seconds in 20 shines, 2-3 minutes in Any%

France

2-3 minutes in Any% is really exaggerated. SidedWilliam could have 1:14 if he was playing on the japanese version ? 1UpsForLife has made a video about text & loading time :

So I guess if on 1 hour, English version is nearly 20 seconds slower, you lose around 5-7 seconds on 20 Shines.

Gotta love it when people who don't run the game throw out random timings rofl

Edit: And to answer your question, the only thing in 20 shines that should be different on English is that you can't clean off the chomplets in Pianta 1 with a ground pound/rollout hover like you can on JP.

I watched averagetreys vid and it told how much time it lost in any%, I so bad at hearing fuck me

in 20 shines you dont have many textboxes so you should not lose really any time. but on gamecube you will lose more like 20-30 seconds because of lag. on wii you are fine :)

Thanks for all the info fellas

10-12 seconds on any% Japanese ver from usa. pal has slower loading times than japanese but has faster text when using Italian. SO 8-10 seconds are saved. So use the Japanese version if you want to every little bit of time. And also use the Wii for faster loading times since it has a more powerful cpu. The wii is just an overclocked gcn anyway so use the wii and Japanese cd. Wii is region locked so you'll have to have NTSC-J Wii so some importing will have to be done. Japanese ver has the fastest loading times so Wii and SMS NTSC-J is one you'll one to use.

Ezra, please do everyone a favor and stop giving advice to people if you don't actually know what you're talking about. Importing a Wii is completely unnecessary, you can Homebrew your Wii to region-free it, that way you can play any version of the game regardless of the console you're playing it on.
