Over claire / B runs in general you can lower your FPS to 10 and enemies simply don't hit you over certain places (this includes the starting licker). This is not allowed yet; should this be allowed?
We have been discussing some ideas and will bring them to the public very soon. It's very unfortunate that there is yet another FPS issue with this game. :(
i see no problem with a low fps run as long as it has it's own category. I don't see people doing entire runs at 10fps, but rather lowering FPS at specific parts (lab lickers for instance) to get through easier. If someone can rig a hot key to switch it, which im sure is easy enough.
Dear god what is this game lmao. The IGT should still be the same but it may cause a problem in terms of being able to mess with settings in mid run etc...I dont think it will be immensely viable except for certain areas
This is one hell of a slope people are on. Should just lock it at a specific FPS for the entire route, instead of jerry rigging some switch to 6 or 7 different fps values for one room then another..
Settings and framerate should be locked once the run has started (with the possible exception of 120 boss fights to keep it accessible as possible). It just becomes a mess otherwise. As for having a low FPS category...why? Who is going to subject themselves to the torture of doing a full run at 10FPS? Seems less like a test of skill and more like a test of will to not throw up.
Seriously ? Low fps to dodge monsters ... People must not forget that it s a SPEEDrun and it require skill (and some rng)

Im voting for to ban changing settings under a run over all. Tab out and lower the cap off framerate should not be ok. I even dont like the ”change settings” rule before bosses. Wtf?! Just run the game at 50% res from the start. If you dont like to lower the settings and run minecraft, just run it at 60fps. (The best fps ;) )
No but seriously, why allow change settings in a run? I believe when the board is split that rule is unnecessary. I run on both 120 and 60 and yeah i just lower the res a little bec. Im happy with my setting. I hate the 120 cap but its easy achivebel on potato pc if you can live with minecraft looking game.

Edit: When i tried a few minutes ago i noticed a big different even on 30fps vs 120 with the hitreg off Lickers.
the game have some rng deal with it. If you want a low fps Resident Evil 2, plays the GameCom version Kappa
Not a big fan of changing settings during the game either honestly...even just for bosses.. But we will see what will be done eventually.

I don't see the big deal honestly i get that some people aren't a fan of the messy graphics but if that's the case just run 60fps or get over it and as far as dodging enemies go isn't that kinda the point of practicing to get better so you don't need to jerry rig the game to help you succeed and i don't think the rng's bad enough in the game to even warrant it.

Half life speedruns anyone? Seriously though, tabbing out to change settings is stupid, for low FPS runs to be viable it would have to be set to a hotkey, and I also don't like the changing settings mid game (although I disable aim assist at the start of some runs which is different) and don't understand why people even bother, just run the whole game at 120 or run it at 60, but if people want a low fps run, give it to them, let them make the rules lol, times will be shit compared to other cats prolly anyway.
Lowering settings during boss fights makes the run more accessible for people with less powerful PCs, while not making the game look like shit the rest of the way. On top of that, at 50% image quality the statue puzzle symbols become very hard to recognize, especially the lion statue where the lighting can completely conceal some of the symbols, and the yellow bulbs on ivys are so pixelated you literally cannot see it to shoot. You'd know these things if you had actually ran the game instead of making stupid suggestions on a game you're probably not gonna run anyway.
