Game Request - OutRunners (arcade) - Rejected, need help
Centre, France

Hello :-)

As I was suggested to do in the Genesis/Megadrive version of OutRunners forum, I made a request to create a new game entry dedicated to the arcade version of OutRunners.

But my request was just rejected for the following reason : "As stated on the "Request Game" submission form, we require a full speedrun of said category and not only a "single level""

Here is the demo run :

As you can see, this is a full run, from start to finish, so I don't know what to think. :-(

Most games of the OutRun series work the same, time attack being the main thing. You can look at other OutRun game entries as examples of runs which are all similar to what my demo shows.

So what is wrong here ? Can somebody explain what I'm missing ?

Sorry in advance if I'm really dumb or something, but I really don't see what's wrong and I just want to enjoy my OutRunners cab with passion and brag about being in the game's leaderboards like a good humble speedrunner :'-| ...

A few reasons I can see pretty quickly; You keep calling it a "demo" in both the title and youtube description, you also did not specify the categories other than country regions(?) and as such felt like you were trying to sell the game as either a demo or IL. You may want to make the request much more clear and resubmit.

Hello and first, thank you for the quick answers. :-)

Now I understand I shouldn't have used the word "demo" as its too ambiguous. I have renamed the video and added a more complete description.

The country regions are the names of the 10 different endings available in the game : 10 destinations depending on the path you choose during the race. Maybe the linked description page doesn't explain that very well.

Here's how I can try to explain : The arcade version of OutRunners saves the best time for each of the 10 available endings. Therefore, as I see it, there should be 10 main sections for the game entry here on speedrun.com. Hence my list of regions, which are the names of those different endings. Then each section can have several filtering criterias like the selected car, selected transmission (manual/auto), and maybe also the cabinet's difficulty settings, though the default settings should remain as the main thing. But that's another level of details which I can't really discuss before getting a view of all the available means to categorize runs properly.

So, do you think that would be enough to make a proper game request this time, or do you see any other things to clarify ?

In any case, thanks again for your support !
