Again we are desagree with Maxylobes about using the keyboard on the PC version, more precisely, to use more than one controller during a run (even if it's not at the same moment, just switching it). For me use extra controller, should be rejected, this is not faire, and really you can do what do you want, noone could verify. I think you know already the Maxylobes's opinion.
Just if we accept this, I will use this and you will be surprise by what I can do with just one extra keyboard. Nothing will make sense after that...
So you are okay with a person only using just a keyboard, yes? It is almost impossible to tell if a run is using multiple controllers, keyboards or hell even a fightstick or guitar hero controller.
I can kind of understand what you are getting at. For example, I use a laptop with a USB keyboard which means I technically have 2 J keys, so I could mash both simultaneously for a faster mash. If I was to run the game on keyboard and I used this, would you say this is cheating?
I still think using extra controllers should be okay, I cannot think of a speedrun board that does this (let me know if there is). It is very hard to tell if I a runner is using more then one input device. I think turbo should be banned as this is different to using an extra controller.
Turbo should be banned for obvious reasons. But using a keyboard for one strat? No.
im agree with yami, if we accept the keyboard how will see the difference with the turbo controller ? fmg_ransu you said "for one strat" yeah but for one strat with a turbo controller you can save 5 or 10 second in dmc it's a huge advantage, for me the keyboard is like a turbo controller that's should be banned in the rules
It's not a slippery slope in the slightest. A Hat in Time runners use the keyboard for one segment of the run for better precision while aiming.
I'll take a moment to describe to you why this is being brought up.
Dante's fastest shooting speed is possible on all versions of the game. Console versions need a turbo controller, which is banned. However, the default keyboard controls for the new PC version allows you to shoot at Dante's fastest speed without the use of turbo or alteration of anything. It is possible on keyboard because a keyboard will actually let you mash the correct way to obtain the "quickshooting" speed. Mr. Snawk, It saves 4 seconds in Mission 1 if you get good luck. It does not serve as a huge advantage. Just learn how to do it like everyone else is doing. How will we see the difference between keyboard and controller? We can easily ask that anybody who is using the Quickshot method to show input display on the keyboard, or a microphone/webcam to prove that you're not just holding down a key. (which WOULD be banned because that is alteration.)
It's not hard to make rules and lead a community the right direction.
Snawk, it's not like typing in notepad or MS Word, you can't just hold down J and have Dante shoot.
I tested yesterday by using my keyboard, and someone tell me "WTF you use a turbo !!" I reply "nop, it's just a keyboard, because now it is authorized". So, using my keyboard is, as expected, confusing if we are not using a real turbo. a rule is a rule...

Doesn't matter who told me that, this is not important, the important thing is the fact I expected, this gonna be confusing to determine if the runner use a turbo or not.

You're arguing a non-issue to justify ignoring what the others think and make the game your own. As such the moderation team for this game has been updated appropriately to closer reflect the direction of the community.
Shame that it has to come to this, I've never seen anything like it through the communities i've been part of for a year of running so far. I'm greatful we had maxy for this one, willing to fight for what I believe was the just cause. Likewise ROMaster2: Much appreciated you took the time to deal with this <3
