Mellow mode without skips?

I like the idea of using mellow mode, but abusing the skip level badge is a bit boring. I was wondering if there could be a category with mellow mode, but banning the use of skip level badges.

that actually is a pretty good Idea. I would like to see that

Problem with that comes to this: are there realistically enough differences between that and Classic mode to justify inclusion. I mean, I'll be honest I never really tested mellow mode, but from what I can see other than allowing the use of the skip badge the only thing it does is allow hovering without repressing, and even then the difference in hovering is literally a lack of egg boosting (which has only a few uses for minor parts of some levels) and generally slower hovering. Is there anything different?

As it is, it's not worth adding to the boards as it's basically just Any% Classic if you take away the skip badge but about 30-60secs slower at most due to 1 or 2 minor route differences if that

SSR said it all. Mellow mode has slower, simpler movement, and starts every level and checkpoint with full health. If you're looking for an easy mode speedrun, nobody's going to stop you, but you're not going to get a leaderboard, it's too similar. Any% classic is simple enough as it is, and if you're really worried about dying, there's always Player 2 to back you up if you have some trouble levels.

I guess that's right, it's pretty similar to the classic mode. By the way, what's egg boosting?

England

Fluttering, then going lower, before using an egg to regain height, as throwing an egg gives you a height boost up until the max height of your highest flutter
