This game needs rules

When does the timer start? When does it end? Do I need to beat "The GT World" on Gold or 3rd is good enough?

True we need rules. Didn't even notice that we don't have any but guessing from my and the other few runs timer starts when you enter Ford Challenge/Competition (Before accepting info board) just like in FR2. I would guess that you have to get gold in GT World to have a valid run in Competition. In Challange mode you need to unlock both cars and paints. Timer ends asa you cross the finish line in last race. Maybe mods can work on these ideas

This game needs attention.

Ok guys, let's think about it.

In Ford Competition, there is nothing the player can do other than select the first race and the mustang. We could start the timer on "first meaningful action" being car selection, or in case there will be an exploit found that unlocks Cups or Cars, we could start the timer upon selecting "Ford Competition" in main menu (just like it is being done now).

And for the timer stop, there can't be a thing fancier than finish line of the last race (with Gold in the Cup)

I would stay the way it is rn with the start/end of the timer. The same way it is done in FR2 and I think it fits perfect for FR3 too. For what you have to achieve in the cups I would like to hear what the others suggest. Obviously get gold in the last cup but what about the others. We could go for just get through as fast as possible OR get gold in every cup you compete in. For challange as I said above you have to get cars and paints or to make it basic play on medium difficulty but we could also go for just car unlocks. Looking forward what you guys suggest

Can we clarify what it means to get gold in the gt cup. Is it getting first place or completing the cup? As getting 3rd in the gt cup provides the gold symbol and the gt cup trophy. If its getting 1st then my run is in direct violation of the rules and should be removed.

Getting gold probs means getting 1st in The GT World

So something I've just found out is that when doing cups on Ford Competition you can skip a race or two and still win the cup. I mentioned this to Yonco last night when I was testing this idea and it seems like it would save 10 mins maybe more for the 100% categories of Ford Competition 100% and Game 100%.

My question now is would that be allowed? 🤔

Note: You can't skip any races in the first cup that you do in Ford Competition as the AI can beat you by 2 points. It might be possible somehow but I've no idea if it's feasible for a run currently.

100% should only mean get gold cups, not complete all races, unless the game counts it towards 100% completion.

To my knowledge, only cup results count towards game completion. 100% in this case would require achieving gold in all cups

Greater Manchester, England

In that case, for Game 100% and Ford Competition 100% skipping races is allowed as long as you win the gold cup. As for Any% on Ford Competition, any ideas on this rule set?

Also is there any chance of adding a file to resources for those that want to play the game in a window?

Hungary

I think for Any%, getting 1st on The GT World is unnecessary

Edit: here are the rules I suggest + [Comments]

Ford Comp Any% -Timer starts when you enter Ford Comp. and ends when you finish/retire from the last race -Ford Challenge unlocks aren't allowed -You must get The GT World cup [if 3rd place is enough, then that is the minimum requirement] -Skipping races is allowed

Ford Comp. 100% -Timer starts when you enter Ford Comp. and ends when you finish/retire from the last race -Ford Challenge unlocks aren't allowed -You must get 1st place/Gold on every competition -Skipping races is allowed [if only the final results count towards completition in Summary] -Cups and the Ford Comp. trophy must be shown after the run

Ford Chal. Any% -Beat all challenges in any order on any difficulty -Shields must be shown after the run [? Does the game give shields for beating all challenges on Easy in a category? If not, then this will be deleted]

Ford Chal. 100% -Beat all challenges on Hard difficulty -Tokens, Shields and the Ford Challenge Trophy must be shown after the run

Game 100% -Beat all challenges on Hard difficulty -You must get 1st place/Gold on every competition -Skipping races in Ford Comp. is allowed -Reach "Ford Legend" rating -Unlock all tokens, shields, cups and trophies -Trophy Cabinet must be shown after the run -100% completition must be shown in Summary after the run

I think just having 1 category for Ford Challenge would be best, having to complete all events on hard. But apart from that seems perfect to me

Bavaria, Germany

I agree with yonco98 that we should stay with 1 Ford Challenge and that it would be best to just go for the 100% Ford Challenge run. The rest of the rules are nicely done and I think that's exactly what this game needs. Not sure if it's rlly that necessary to show the trophys after you're done with the run cause the game will show the "unlocked trophy screen" anyways and that should be enough. Just personal oppinion but not a big deal if we would have to show it

Should the Ford Challenge category be changed to Ford Challenge 100% and runs that do not comply with new rules (Hard difficulty, full completion) should be removed?

Yeah I think that would be best PojeBunny

Agreed.

What about the difficulty? (Hard) It invalidates all the runs.

Bavaria, Germany

Yeah I know it will but I think it's best for this category. I'm sure there will be hard runs soon enough and I'm already working on one myself
